It works pretty much like it says it does. The ice cream is much more the consistency of a shake, but other than that, it's fun and delicious. I wish this allowed me to do a 4.5 star, but it would only allow either a 4 or a 5.

Fun novelty, but not the easiest to use. The ice cream froze really well on the outside part of the container, but it was difficult to get the inside frozen. I did stir it as per the instructions, but it was not very easy to get it mixed well inside. We have only used it once, and the kids (ages 3 and 9) were anxious to try the ice cream, so we may have gotten better results if we had been a little more patient with the freezing part. Also, the outside ball started to leak. I assume that is a defect and shouldn't happen. The kids were rolling it pretty vigorously--so it may need more gentle playing.

The ball I received was not the ball in the picture. The one I received was rubber on the outside. It made great ice cream, but it was very heavy and the grandchildren got tired of it way before we tasted the end product. Also found we had to tighten everything occasionally as it started to leak. I think the plastic one would be much lighter and easier to handle.

Works great but it doesn't hold much liquid. We spent a long time (an hour or more) outside rolling it and playing and it still wasn't frozen in the middle but the outsides were solid. Still enjoyed it though.

Bought for my niece for Christmas. She had wanted it and she was very happy to get it. Will put more info after she uses.

My grand children used it once and they were spitting out shards of plastic. Apparently the plastic threads of the screw in top.
