Don't be scared off by the fact there are only 60 recipes in this book. All of them are unique and stand alone. Most importantly, all the ones I have cooked are excellent. You could casually pick your way through this book and still be working on it a year later.
This cookbook is okay. Not that many recipes - except for desserts. I made one recipe - for a beef stew. It's a rather complicated recipe and half-way through the hour and a half prep, I realized that it was simply a variation on another recipe I had (also complicated but much better).
My main advice is - unless you are already familiar with the cookbook, don't buy one unseen. There is one exception and that is "The Cook's Encyclopedia" series. Never found one I did not like and did not use. Problem is - they are out of print so if you find one, grab it.
