Two days later, she went to his dorm to confront him. She asked for an explanation of the pictures she had gathered from the various sites. He lost his initial smirk and then angrily accused her for his behavior since she was such a prude! But he “graciously” offered to teach her what he had learned since he knew she would forgive him!!! So she told him exactly what she thought of him now and walked out the door, her heart breaking.
Jacques is cleaning up his tattoo station while Christophe tells him about the new American girl renting the place across from the shop. Jacques was completely disinterested. After a bad break up with his girlfriend, he was swearing off serious dating. But he saw Nora that evening in her apartment and they had a brief conversation from their open windows.
Despite each of their painful histories, the chemistry between them brings them together. Will it be enough to let them trust each other? Will it get them over the hurdles they are going to face along the way?
This was a very nicely done romance with enough little twists and turns to hold the reader’s interest. The story line was strong and well-paced. The reader will easily admire Nora. She was not a pushover and acted responsibly to face tough issues and move on when she had to. Jacques likewise was a likable character. The author developed their personalities and made their reactions very believable. I would definitely recommend this book. It was an enjoyable reading experience. I received a copy of the book from BookSprout and am voluntarily leaving a review expressing my honest opinion.
This story is about Nora, an Art Major and finishing off her last year of College and how she learns that her Boyfriend Ethan has been leading a double life... And in the other life she is not included because he is cheating on her with other girls and some of them she knows from Campus. Heartbroken, Humiliated and Embarrassed and down right angry she decides to flee the Country to Paris for a year.
Where she meets her neighbour Jacque's, who's also in the same boat as Nora... He's suffering from a broken heart as well after being cheated on.
The two form a bond through a window as the language barrier is sketchy at best and when Nora returns after a night out with a fellow American she is accosted by a guy outside her apartment... Jacques comes to her rescue in which earns him an invite into Nora's apartment for a nightcap *wink wink* Even though these two feel a connection Nora is quite drunk and wants Jacques to stay the night with her. But in the morning the sexual connection is tenfold. and they certainly make the most of it.
But how will these two react to their fears? The ones they have deep down because of their cheating spouses before? And will they actually start falling for each other? or will their past play interference with their future?
I can't express how much I really enjoyed this book and even though there was a Language barrier between these two, it just goes to prove that Love is a Universal Language! No matter what nationally or where ever you are.
If you want to read a really sweet book all about a second chance at Love, then this is the book for you. I would highly recommend it.
I want to Thank Jade Allen so much for sharing this book and I was absolutely lucky to get this book as an Arc for a Voluntary Review.
