I love this book. Period. It's light, it's fun, it's informative withinformation and recipes, and it is clearly written by someone who has an education in this field of knowledge. I can't wait to read it all overagain and have it on my bookshelf rather than dashing to the internet to try and "help" my chickens. -Amy, blogger at boogersandjesus.com
Lisa is passionate about promoting what, in England, we call "the good life: - a life close to Nature and one where self-sufficiency is paramount. She is a one-woman dynamo and an inspiration. -Simon McEwan, content editor, Your Chickens and Country Smallholding magazines, Great Britain

I like that the book focuses on natural treatments and setups for the chickens. I like the idea of avoiding expensive vet bills and chemicals in my birds/yard. I particularly like all of the suggestions for herbs to add to their coop and feed, recipes for chicken food, and natural treatments for common problems.
I'm reading her other book, Duck Eggs Daily, too and I ended up deciding on ducks instead due to the setup of my yard and neighborhood. Of course, I'm keeping this book "just in case" I end up with ducks and chickens at some point because I hear that's how it works.
I was wrong. This book really hits the points I didn't realize I was missing - raising chickens organically and with herbs. Like I said, I found this book to be quite informative in that department. Ms. Steele really delivers in Fresh Eggs Daily. I loved this book so much that I also purchased her Gardening with Chickens, which again was more than I could've hoped for.
Recently one of my chicks got sick. My first thought was uh no better go grab the Tylan injectable antibiotic. Then I thought wait Lisa told us to use garlic, and vetrx. So I upped the garlic and administered the vetrx for a week. The chick is a better :) No antibiotics! No chemicals! Thank you Lisa!
