Many customers have found creative ways to use Freshware silicone molds (depending upon the shape) to create delicious homemade cupcakes, muffins, brownies, cookies, cheesecakes, quiches, breads, chocolates, candies, tarts, butters, caramels, ice cubes, frozen baby foods, gelatin, ice creams etc. Other customers use the molds in unique ways to create clays, resin casting, candles, soaps and more.
All Freshware silicone products DO NOT have Chemical Coatings and are Pinch Test Passed. Our silicone mold handles temperature from -40 to +446 degrees Fahrenheit (-40 to +230 degrees Celsius). Reusable for up to 3,000 uses, our molds save money by eliminating the need to ever buy disposable paper liners again. Safe to use in the Oven, Refrigerator, Freezer, Microwave, Steamer and Dishwasher. Top rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended to extend the life of the product.
What Is A Pinch Test? Cheaper brands often use plastic fillers in their silicone products, so it is not safe for high-temperature baking. Pinch and twist a bit of the silicone, if it turns white, it’s got fillers as 100% pure silicone will retain its color.

(Side notes: (1) the recipe in Gale Gand's "just a bite" book makes exactly 20 canneles, so two DeBuyer plus one Freshware is the best combination for a single batch. And for a recipe that you have to start two days in advance, and where the end-product freezes well, its not worth doing smaller quantities. (2) Brushing the molds with a 50/50 mix of butter and beeswax before filling gives the best crust. Yes it is annoying to deal with beeswax, but it really does make all the difference. More difference I suspect than using copper instead of silicone.)
The accompanying literature says do not use in temperature over 460 but I had to set my oven to 500 F the second time around, then lowered it to 475F for a duration of 15 minutes, then on to 45 minutes more for 400F.
Not only did it hold up in those 2 times of high heat baking but it also cleaned well with hot soapy water. Mind you, I used beeswax and butter to brush the mold before baking. I have read that some people who have used silicone molds with the beeswax/butter combo had to throw out their mold due to the difficulty in cleaning - but not this one. It is a keeper, and in fact I am ordering another one to have a pair of them when I make a bigger batch of batter. What a great bargain for a great perfoming mold.
Could have been thicker, but works fine as is (need to be placed on baking sheet )

I tried to bake caneles before without success. With this mold the caneles turned out just as the ones you can buy at a Parisian street market. Read morePublished 24 days ago by L. O. Branch
The mold worked just fine for the canelés, which came out easily (I used baking spray beforehand) and were delicious. Read morePublished 1 month ago by CTcitizen
Does the job but wanted a crispy crust, which this doesn't provide. A metal pan with this outlay would have been better. Otherwise, pretty good for the job. Read morePublished 1 month ago by S. Lin
I have just started making cannele and this mold is working very well. Temperature and baking time are critical. The molds arrived quickly and the quality is good.Published 2 months ago by JEH
A good alternative to expensive cooper molds. Product result is not better or equal to cooper molds. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Dan Florida
can't beat the price compared to copper molds - my mold doesn't feel completely smooth inside or on top so it's a little difficult to get clean, but it works pretty well. Read morePublished 3 months ago by ButterYum
