None-the-less, I got it installed, and went to calibrate the in- and out-feed fences. That's when I discovered that they were not parallel. Hello? Fences not parallel? And this is the "professional" model, right? But I needed to use the darn thing, so I shimmed both fences at one end to make them parallel, using aluminum shimming tape (0.005") - a couple of layers on each side did the trick. And that's when I discovered the last issue - at least the last one up to this point. The MDF fences bend! With very little horizontal pressure the fences bend because they are only supported at one end, so it is very easy to distort them with the target of the job. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. As with the other reviewer, I also called Freud and they made it very clear that they could give a rip. Their customer service is tragically bad.
Now my choices are simple - buy and try their optional aluminum fences (or some other extruded track fencing), OR, return the whole mess so it can be foisted onto someone else. Not, at least, if they take the time to read the reviews ... one could hope.
