You see, Kelli lives in the very "set in their ways", Christian community of Sundale. When all the local teens want to hang out or go out on dates, that's where Kelli comes in. She runs a business of sorts. An alibi business. She gets paid to say that she was with someone while they go out for the evening. What does she do while they are supposedly out? She sits at home and plays on her XBOX. While playing she can forget how much her parents ignore her and are never there. She can forget that she has no life and only one friend. She also gets to have awesome conversations with the one person that never judges her...her Friday night guy. He knows her secret. He knows what she is and isn't really doing. It's comforting to her to know that this stranger doesn't see her as some loser.
One Friday night Kelli's best friend ,Sadie, decides that they need to go out.She can't be seen by anyone she knows in case her cover is blown. So, when she tries to hide when she sees a familiar face, she comes face to face with the most amazing blue-green-gray eyes she's ever seen.
Chase Moroney comes off as this cocky, frat boy, college guy that Kelli labels a manwhore. She wants nothing more than to get away from him but why does he have to look like Joseph Gordon Levitt?!
Picking up quickly on the attraction her best friend seems to be having with this guy, Sadie, keeps inviting Chase along with them on Saturdays to play tennis. Soon they start this hilarious banter back and forth of tricks, pranks and name calling.
I dare you not to laugh when they go to the day spa. Three words: Full body wax!!! freaking hilarious!!
When Chase learns of what Kelli does every Friday night, he takes that upon himself to make it their night. He comes over every Friday night to keep her company while she is "on duty". That's when suddenly he doesn't seem so cocky and the fact that he always smells like oranges makes her stomach feel as if popcorn is popping and is coming out of her ears. But Kelli just can't seem to get past the fact that she is still feels alone.
"I'm not a friend or girlfriend or priority tonight. Because it's Friday. I'm only one thing. An alibi."
The more time Kelli spends with Chase, the more she's becoming attached. Sadie keeps calling it her "epic romance", Kelli just ignores her. How can she have a romance and be someone's alibi, too?! But the more she finds out about him and how sweet he is with her, she can't deny it anymore. She's falling for him and she's falling quick. He's falling just as fast. It was only a matter of time...
"You should know by now. You're more than my Friday night. You're..You're my everything."
SWOON!!! I mean, seriously?! Can I have Chase on Friday nights? haha!
This story made me laugh to the point my stomach hurt and had me on the brink of tears when truths finally come out. I enjoyed this book so much and I recommend to anyone that loves a lighthearted, sweet love story. Great read!
