Editorial Reviews

Review

There is romance that will make you hopeful, there is Sam's new job as a canine clothes designer (endless laughs here), an encounter with a sexist villain known only as 'Mr Salami' - you'll be wanting to exact revenge yourself on this one and you'll be cheering the results when you read them. Sam is clearly a dog lover therefore a good person, she's so well written that I actually sighed an audible 'aww' at the end. I urge you to dig out your sense of humour and indulge in this cutting comedy romance. 5-STARS Samantha Henthorn, Author

The best sign of any book is that need to keep turning the page - or clicking it - until the end, and that's exactly what this book had me doing. The characters were spot-on, the scenarios were hilarious (and a little naughty in places!) and I just had to know what happened next. All in a richly-described setting that had those '70s memories flooding back. 5-STARS

What a fun read! The story is unique, and the characters are super likable. I would have enjoyed hanging out with these ladies in the seventies! The inclusion of dogs and their owners adds to the fun. Sam's romantic story line is satisfying, and there are plenty of laughs along the way. I'm looking forward to reading more from Andrene Low. 5-STARS

It's so refreshing to read a story that hasn't been written continuously before. It's about friends, alcohol and relationships. True chick lit with comedy. A great read. 4-STARSAn amusing, entertaining read. I would have given it 5 stars if it hadn't ended so suddenly. I was expecting more so was left wondering what happened next. But then I found book 2. I have read this twice now, and salami boy still makes me laugh out loud. 4-STARS

About the Author

Andrene's love of writing was instilled in her by her mother, although if her mum was still alive, she'd be smacking Andrene around the back of the head given the direction some of her writing has taken. It's irreverent, cutting and reflects her background as a stand-up comic. As well as being laugh out loud funny it can be edgy, and even dark in places. Andrene lives in New Zealand in the beautiful Hawke's Bay - an area renowned for its stunning scenery and award-winning wines. --This text refers to the paperback edition.
