Ease of Installation
Snap-in hoses and 115V operation mean quick start-up and cooling. Move easily from room to room or storage with casters and side grip handles.
ZoneAire is like having multiple appliances in one convenient unit: an air conditioner, a dehumidifier, a fan and a heater (heat pump model only). It's practical and flexible: because the unit can move with you to any room, you get cooling exactly when and where you need it. The dehumidification mode keeps your space comfortably dry, and there's no bucket to empty. When you just want a gentle breeze, switch to fan mode. Remote control included. CFM 260cooling power:13500

I've got one in the master bedroom and the other in the dining room. They augment a split system I have in the living room and keep the rear of the house cool.
Two drawbacks that I can think of - although minor. One is that it's a little on the loud size, which can make it a little less effective for bedroom use (it's a good thing I sleep like a log). The other is the weight. They're pretty hefty. The upside is I only have to move them twice a year to and from storage.
They're a little bit more expensive because of the dual-hose design. The configuration helps with the unit's efficiency because one is dedicated to air intake and the other to exhaust (the exhaust hose gets really warm to the touch), so intake & exhaust aren't shared as they are in a single-hose configuration.
These units are perfect for addressing warm or hot spots in the house - and highly recommended!
I decided to use the heat mode, but have found that-- contrary to the manual's instructions-- my unit will not allow me to set a temperature. The panel light jumps from "Set Timer" to "Room Temperature" and skips "Set Temperature". I have a giant fan blowing already cool air rather than a heater blowing warm air. Half of the product works. If I could find the remote (How do those devils grow feet?) I will try to bypass the panel. I purchased this through Amazon's Warehouse Deals, Inc. ( which I am now beginning to regret), and will ask them for help. If I am successful, I will update this review.
Update...("Why Five Stars?)
Just finished chatting with Nithin at Amazon, who asked me to ship it back to them at their expense (only need to find big, sturdy box) and they will credit my account. Thank you! No regrets. This is customer service and why I am impressed with Amazon.
I installed this unit in a room with no windows. I did not use the included hoses. Rather, I used flexible insulated ductwork and attached it with zip ties to the curved connectors that attach to the unit. On the other end, I drilled holes in my wall with a hole saw, and installed dryer-vent style vents with flappers and screens. I sealed everything with metallic tape made for ductwork (not standard duct tape, but the metal stuff). I'm really happy with the installation. The insulated duct, which I also put through the wall, drastically reduces loss of heat or cooling.
I would have rated this unit 5 stars for the first 6 months, but there's no reason it should have lost cooling capacity so much in less than a year. I clean the filter so I know that's not a problem. I have no idea how to troubleshoot a slow refrigerant leak. But a unit of this price should last a lot longer than 6 months.
