There's nothing like the slow burn of a friends-to-lovers least not until you get to the explosive bedroom action. The draw for these stories for me isn't whether they'll get together, because of course they will, but in how they cross that sexy point of no return. Roth and Holly have that forever feeling from the beginning, but solidly in the friend zone. To that end, the book starts right in in the action - in the moment things start to change - and doesn't let up. I love the way the author presents the shift...even though the reader can tell the two are made for each other, their own doubts are believable. I've often said I'm a big fan of Ms. Warner's writing style - one in which she beautifully captures the scene, leaving the reader fully enraptured and invested in the story - and A FRIENDLY ARRANGEMENT is no exception to this. This is a sexy, deliciously satisfying story with all the feels. An easy five stars, and I'm looking forward to the third book in the series.

Holly and Roth are best friends. They live across the hall from each other, play video games together and are so close they finish each others sentences. Both Holly and Roth don't want commitment. Neither of them want to settle down with marriage and family but they are constantly being set up by well-meaning family members and friends finding their perfect match. Because they are tired of the set-ups, they agree to an arrangement. Holly and Roth will each be each others plus one for events - in a pretend relationship. What starts out as friends helping each other quickly turns into a friends with benefits plus more situation.

There were a couple things I really liked about this book. Holly's family was funny and good supporting characters. This book had some good steamy scenes. Holly and Roth had a really sweet friendship. The things I didn't like about the book are minor issues like I thought the characters seemed immature at times and I really got angry at Roth at one point but overall I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more by this author.

Two friends not ready to commit for the long run decide the problem needs a quick fix

What happens when your plus one becomes "the one"?
Holly Haggerty and Roth Esterly are two besties with everything in common--they're neighbors, career-driven, and commitment-phobes. Tired of always being set up on dates by well-meaning friends and family, they take matters into their own hands: they will be the other's plus one--a little friendly arrangement between friends.
Easy…until a steamy night where they cross the line. But that's okay, they'll add an addendum--one that includes a little action between the sheets…on top of the sheets…and without the sheets. But there are rules. Dating and sex are exclusive until one of them decides to terminate the agreement. No slumber parties. And if either party becomes emotionally involved they will break things off with no hard feelings.
When unexpected news changes their plans and turns their fun arrangement into something more serious, Holly and Roth must come to terms with what's more important--what they thought they wanted, or what they really need. (Amazon blurb)

In the same style as A friendly Engagement, Christine Warner writes her second novel of the series, A Friendly Arrangement; as I had a problem with the first in the sense that I found certain parts too aloof or simply narrow minded, some parts of this novel were simply showing characters that were too immature for their age. Certainly having no responsibilities, no actual relationship between the two of them and being best friends adds to the atmosphere of being carefree and immature for Holly and Roth, I would have expected that once their attraction was accepted or they stopped ignoring it, they would at least take some things a bit more seriously.

Christine Warner hits the friends to lovers mark spot on with all the “feels” and a little twist to shake things up!

I really enjoyed this friends to lovers story. I felt it had all the “feels” that a good romance read needs and offered up a little twist to keep it real. The characters were real and are relatable with family drama, money, and job insecurities like the rest of the world. Of course, we could all have been so lucky to have our best friend be Super Hot Neighbor Guy.
Holly Haggerty is a career driven woman who wants to make her own way in the world without the attachment of a husband or even anyone uttering the word “long term commitment”. Roth Esterly is a successful man that grew up knowing he never wanted to duplicate his parent’s mistakes. Therefore, long term commitment and family was something he would avoid and was not interested in.
Holly needs a date ASAP for charity event to try and win back her biggest client. Her best friend and neighbor, Roth, is her only hope after she dumps her boyfriend when he tries for a longer term arrangement. Roth also needs a date the following weekend for an event. When the two start thinking about how Holly’s Mom is obsessed with finding her a husband and Roth’s friends are always trying to set him up with someone new, they devise an arrangement to become each other’s “plus one”. They are already best friends and enjoy each others company, so why not have fun and take some pressure off of having to be setup all the time. So, why does Holly find Roth as the Super Hot Neighbor Guy now? Maybe, there is something to the “friends with benefits” saying…Along comes the addendum to arrangement (warning…Hot and Sexy stuff) Rules are to be followed: dates, sex, no feelings, and no overnight sleeping arrangements.
