I bought this right before my trip because the cheap 1$ carbiners I used to carry my keys kept breaking. I knew I needed something sturdy and reliable. I was about to travel 1000 miles north and be away from any support system. I needed something that wouldn't let me down. It would be carrying my keys, my pepper spray, and my flash drive. All things that are vital when traveling in unfamiliar cities and expensive or dangerous to lose.
In NYC, I spent several months out in the freezing cold. Talking 10 degree weather. This keychain worked despite all that. Never once did it slip off my pants or come apart. Once the weather started to warm, I traveled back down south on a pedal bike. 1100 miles. I got caught in the rain. I went off roads. I went to the beach. The entire time, this key chain stayed attached to me. And more importantly it made sure my pepper spray was close at hand as I traveled through the "bad part" of many major east coast city.
Now the key chain shows some sign of wear and tear, but it's still reliable. I still have my keys, my flashdrive, and my pepper spray on it. And if I take off again, I'm definitely taking this key chain with me.
For this one reason, poor design, they ruined their own otherwise decent quality product. I'm going back to my old a Fossil keychain, after I repair the worn leather fob. OR, I'll file away the hook, cause otherwise I like it and, despite my negative comments I still found good use for one of the two I bought. That “Friendly Swede” holds all the spar keys and lives on a key rack. I just wouldn’t want to carry it around in my pocket, too bulky for that, and the HOOK prevents clipping onto a belt loop.
One thing that surprised me, oddly enough, was the quality of the keyring itself. It actually seems like a very sturdy keyring. Many of the ones I have had in the past have lost the ability to completely "seal" again and there is always a gap left which can cause keys to get lodged in the keyring or it gets snagged on clothes.

I drive a delivery route and get in and out of my vehicle 20 or more times a day. This makes it easy to store and use my keys.
