She was a mother and put her pride above her children's safety. She punished a good man for the sins of another, and then constantly told him how he felt (or didn't) about her. She annoyed me until the very end and by the time she started to think like a rational adult, I wanted Zack to end up with anyone but her.
She made it almost impossible to enjoy the story but the writing and development was solid so I can't fault the author for that.
