The thing I enjoyed most about both books is the way the authors developed their characters. They seemed like people you’d meet in the PTA or at a local quilt shop -- real people in real situations. In THE FRIENDSHIP STAR QUILT, main character Anne Brown’s plight was revealed through her thoughts and fears. Even though she made every effort to live as inconspicuously as possible and hide her past, her kind and gentle nature came through in her interactions with others. I admired Anne's courage and wanted her to have a happy life. Then when hero Brad came along with his adorable daughter Jennie, I was delighted. Yes, he’s good-looking, but his main attraction is his loving attitude toward his daughter. The plot moved along at a good pace, and the authors added suspense along the way that made the story even more interesting.
If you like to read sweet contemporary romance (and especially if you enjoy quilting), then this is a book you’ll enjoy.
I love how this story brought out so many emotions and it kept enough mystery that you didn't know exactly what all would eventually happen and be revealed. This story is a must read and I think the joint effort of Ms. Kiyono and Ms. Michels have created a delightful clean story with so many emotions.
It was great how the town rallied around her, especially in the end. She didn't know what to do with friends, poor thing.
The epilogue was so lovely. I may have cheered at one point.
I received a free copy from the authors in exchange for an honest review.
