Tips To Acheive The Sharpest Paint Lines
Clean Surface & Let Dry
Clean the area you will be masking and painting before you tape to make sure the surface is dust free. Use a damp sponge and a few drops of dish soap mixed in a bucket of warm water. Let surface dry completely before applying tape.
Tape in 1-2 Foot Sections
Tape any areas on your surface you want to keep paint-free. For best results, tape in 1-2 foot sections to avoid stretching the tape.
Burnish Tape's Edge
Burnish the tape’s edge with a plastic tool like a putty knife or credit card to ensure the tape is completely flush with the surface you will be painting.
Remove Tape When Paint is Wet
For best results, remove the tape while the paint is still wet, making sure to slowly pull at a 45 degree angle.

The tape I got from them did not want to stick to anything, it kept peeling up after a few seconds and would not stay down. I ended up having run to the store and pick up another one, which had none of the issues that the Amazon roll had..
So either the tape that is being sold on Amazon is old, or it is not being stored properly, causing the adhesive to degrade..
However, I'd suggest anything that's larger in width because this thin width just doesn't give enough "wiggle room" for someone, like myself, who is not a professional painter.
I bought a few kinds of painters tape when repainting my entire house, and I ended up using the blue painters tape from Scotch, the thicker width, and it worked just fine.
If money is no question, buy this in a wider width, but if you're looking for something more economical you can use the cheaper stuff and it'll look just fine.
I stumbled onto green FrogTape a few years ago, and have been praising it ever since. Paint lines are truly crisp, it removes with ease, and I have not had a single issue of it sticking to walls, windows, or even my canvas pieces.
Do not fall for the marketing hype; blue painter's tape is a disaster. Invest in green FrogTape if you value your time and efforts as a painter - professional or amateur.
* To be fair, I did apply a white base coat over the tape before paining the darker part of the walls.
Outside of my minor gripe, it works perfectly fine. I recently used it to keep some masonite-like boards taped together while I nailed them to the back of a cheap bookcase. I'm also planning to use them to cover my fretboards and electronics when working on my guitars. Based on the first experience I see no issues in the future with the adhesion or residue.
