Good amount of whole stars in the package. What I did I sorted them the ones that are not broke and looking nice I put in the empty container (previously from tea) and the rest is in the bag that I can use for like every day use. Smell is pretty strong didn’t try it to my drink yet but I think it will add some taste to it. The amount and quantity of the product and the cost of it I think pretty decent

I usually buy my spices from the grocery. An a small 2 or 3 ounce pouch size of Star Anise will cost me more than 10 dollars, I usually wait for them to go on sale. The good folks at Frontier Co-op sent me a pound bag, that's 453g, 16oz., of the most fragrant star anise I could have hoped for, not broken pieces but large, whole star anise.
They have surpassed my expectations. They are going to be in my Oatmeal spice cookies, Gingerbread cookies and cakes, German spice cookies, sweet spice blend, potpourri and they will appear in some savory dishes as well. The aroma will transport you to exotic places. I can't wait to start cooking.
