I have always made my own garam masala because I never found a premixed blend that I liked. I originally discovered the Frontier brand of GM in the bulk spice section of my favorite grocer and have loved it ever since.

I love this stuff. Unlike most Garams Masala I've tried, this one is less spicy-hot, and more savory-sweet. It's the same brand that I used to periodically trek over to a fancy health food store the next town over for, but it's more convenient (and cheaper!) on Amazon. 👍 I use a couple tablespoons in my staple lentils and brown rice. (One pound of each, with onions and garlic sautéed in olive oil, maybe some crushed red pepper to taste, and a small can of tomato paste. Add three quarts of vegetable stock, or substitute just water for some/most of that if you're watching sodium, and simmer on low for an hour, or better yet, set your instant pot to pressure cook for 20 minutes.) 😋👍
