Taking a star off for the HORRIBLE instructions. The booklet is in much need of an update and does not match with the instructions on the YouTube tutorial. Definitely IGNORE the instructions on the booklet - glance at them for sure - but watch the video on YouTube.
I didn’t need to use the insert for Broccoli Seeds, which are smaller. Broccoli seeds didn’t fall through.
The booklet says to use 1/4 to 1/2 cup of broccoli sprouts and the YouTube video tutuorial says to use 2 tablespoons. 2 tablespoons from the seeds didn’t fill the sprouter (could be the brand of seeds) but 3 to 4 tablespoons filled it up. It’s trial and error. Read reviews for how others grow seeds. I haven’t yet tried storing sprouts in the jars/Sprouter, but can see doing so after they have aired out a bit.
The sprouter works great, especially for small seeds. Very easy to rinse and drain. They don't let much light in, which is great for sprouting, but I moved the sprouts to a clear plastic clamshell at the end to spread them out and let them green up. This sprouter keeps the sprouts pretty compacted, too, so I fluffed them a bit after rinsing to keep air circulating.
