Ingredients: Organic Paprika, Organic Caraway, Organic Crushed Red Chili Pepper, Organic Cayenne, Organic Coriander, Organic Cumin, Organic Garlic, Organic Peppermint, Sea Salt.

Frontier's harissa is an organic blend of flavorful spices for making Harissa, a spicy-hot African sauce, a Tunisian hot chili sauce with main ingredients of chili peppers and olive oil. I mix 2 tablespoons water with 2 tablespoons Frontier Harissa Seasoning to make a paste, then add 2 tablespoons unfiltered EVOO and stir together and use as a condiment, meat rub/marinade, or dressing. Sometimes I just sprinkle some on smoked fish, crushed fresh garlic 2 x 2 Pound Fresh Garlic USA California Heirloom Monviso Gilroy Finest (4 Pounds Total) which I pickle myself with lots of herbs and spices in Balsamic Vinegar, wrap it in a pita bread, and wolla, enjoy the protein which is very much appreciated by my body after a hard workout.

Frontier has many, many fine products without salt and I love those very much. I hate paying for salt in a mix since I completely avoid salt and it is an ingredient which can be adjusted to anyone's liking as needed. Having it in the mix impacts the taste and the price. For this salt, I forgive. Get those eggs, out of this world.

This is a good reason to love Amazon - you can get things like this to try that aren't in all grocery stores. This is a wonderful seasoning, great for making souvlaki or meatballs or shish kebab. It works well in sauces - try it with a bit of diced tomatoes, olive oil and garlic as a sauce for meatballs (put more in the meatballs!)

I try to keep food prep from taking over all the available time - I cook in batches of basic, low-fat meat and non-gluten sides like rice, then want to vary them each day until they're gone. So I'm lovin' these pre-mixed offerings of spices from various places in the world. As I am fond of Mediterranean cuisine, this mixture from Tunisia with its peppery bite hits my palate just right. I only had to correct the salt. You can just sprinkle it or make a paste with water or olive oil for a rub.

It tastes very fresh and of course had a good seal when it arrived. It has already been assigned a place in the refrigerator in order to keep it fresh as long as possible. Well, not sure its life expectancy is ALL that long cuz it tastes really good!

The label says it contains organic paprika, organic caraway, organic crushed red chili pepper, organic cayenne, organic coriander, organic cumin, organic garlic, organic peppermint and sea salt. I don't think sea salt can be organic. I'd rather they didn't put that in as our oceans are so polluted and sometimes I've seemed to react badly to it, like an allergy.

This is a super dry harissa, though not with a large flavor punch. I appreciate hot spices and even though this isn't particularly "hot", the spice balance is really good (IMO). It's generally kind of sweet, with lots of savory and more biting spice flavors. It seems pretty fresh and the price is really good for the quantity.

I had not used Harissa seasoning before, but had a couple of recipes that called for it. I turned 2 tablespoons into a paste by adding a little water and olive oil, and mixed it with yogurt and covered chicken pieces with it for about 6 hours. I baked the chicken, and it turned out fabulous! I will be using Harissa a lot more, I assure you. Can't wait to try it sprinkled on fish.

Interesting flavor, but be warned; use less than you think. I made a dipping sauce using yogurt & some of this Harissa. I followed a recipe but the amount called for made it way too hot. I should have started with about 1/4th of what the recipe called for.
