I usually buy a large bottle of natural vanilla extract and add vanilla beans to make it stronger. I like a double strength with a little alcohol that develops over time. That way, I use less when baking.
I tried this brand in a smaller jar while waiting for my homemade batch to “process”. Some say it can take a year! Yikes! Shouldn’t have procrastinated!
This is an EXCELLENT vanilla!!
(And, yes, I did add an extra bean, as usual.
But, it is strong enough to stand on its own for baking.)

Although it's not a Madagascar vanilla or a bourbon one, Frontier is a true quality brand. When you unscrew the cap and smell the first wiff of this, you can definitely understand the freshness and potency. Plus, the price is super great for a 4oz bottle! I believe the dark amber glass it's kept in is to ensure freshness, although I just prefer a glass bottle over plastic any day.
