I am sing this stuff for something quite a bit different than what most people use it for. I use it for gluten free baking. Sounds odd, but the stuff really makes great batter. I use about 1 tbl of this stuff per cup or so of gluten free flour. When it mixes with liquid, the psylium husk powder turns into a gel. Just make sure that you do not combine with Xanthum Gum. The two together really make a thick mess. And as a special bonus, the Frontier brand has a very nice flavor, but it is not overwhelming. And it makes very fluffy and moist baked goods.

I want to re-review this product after more than 1 year of using it.
--------------
January 14, 2012
I still love it and it changed my life a lot.
Also, my family member - who was operated for hemorrhoids - loves and used it daily.

I've started to use this product myslef - after advised by one doctor from abroad - in order to manage digestion problems and very strong pain-attacks and a lot of gases (burping type) I used to have very often - diagnosed as "Irritable Bowel Syndrome" about 1.5 year ago. (Please note I have very balanced diet do not eat junk, I do cook from scratches and in 98% of my life I eat home-made food). I've been prescribed a few different fiber supplements before I found this - and all of them helped for an hour or in some cases for few days and then caused more pain instead of helping - it could be due to the presence of high quantity of sugar or other ingredients. Aafter one of the previous fiber supplement of orange taste - I had such a strong and long pain attack I was feeling I was going to die that time. I still am unable to forget it - the intensity of pain was fluctuating, with some short moments of so strong kicks I could just scream, followed by a constant and dull pain I could not move. I was just crying unable and afraid that even light movement would cause more "kicking pain". I do not wish anyone such experience.
The diagnosis has never been verified as I have not visit the doctor since 2010 = since I've started to use Psyllium Husk - I feel pretty good, and during last 12 months I've experienced maybe 3 moderate pain-attacks and all of them when I've changed my diet and forgot to take this supplement.

Use a tsp. of this in ea. loaf of baked bread. Also, a heaped tsp. in water is good after too much mac and cheese, if you get me! I also use it in homemade meal replacement shakes. A pound will last me a few months.

The granular product shown in the photo is false. This is a fine powdered material of unknown origin. No country of origin on label (an FDA/FTC requirement to be legally sold in the USA if of non-USA origin). Although all psyllium I have ever come across comes from India. I suspect it may even be something packaged in China, based upon the package. I have many years experience importing products from China and I am familiar with the typical Chinese packaging. This is like no no psyllium husk powder I have every used. It gels up very quickly in water as if it were guar gum or some other hydrocolloid into a thick gelatinous messs that is, in my opinion, completely inedible. I have been in the natural products industry for more than 30 years, purchasing and distributing natural ingredients. This product smells like chemicals when you open the bag. I suspect this is some kind of chemical treatment used to sterilize it because it may have originally had high microbiological plate counts. The product is a fine powder, unlike the photo in the advertisement appears to represent on Amazon. It says it is not returnable. I made a strong appeal to Amazon, since it said it is not returnable and Amazon refunded my purchase price and told me I could just discard this material, which I did. Kudos to Amazon! I understand they cannot know what every product they sell is, so this is what customer service is all about. Thumbs up Amazon, thumbs down Frontier.

Been looking for no flavored Psyllium husk and this is exactly like the big M brand (course texture) on tv only without any kind of sweetners. I use it to mix with my flavored because that stuff is always too sweet. This turned out to be a great find. I will be re-ordering.

Making gluten free bread comes out perfectly with this fiber! It's so much more consistent than using Xanathan Gum. Will never go back to making basic bread again!

I have been taking different fiber supplements for many years. Most were expensive and not very effective. My doctor recommended taking powder fiber and i was taking the orange powder until recently i read an article about the benefits of natural fiber and avoiding sugar especially aspartame in the orange powder. So i did some research and found this. It has no taste and thickens quickly so i use two rounded tsp in plain water and drink it quickly. I try yo take it twice a day since each tsp provides 4 grams of fiber. I think it is more effective than the previous products including the orange powder. If you put too much in your drink, you need to add a lot more water to make it liquid again. This is a lot of powder for the price! Overall i am satisfied and will continue with this instead of the other fiber supplements i have used.
