It’s too thick to fit between the door and the wall like you think it should. I wasn’t able to shut the door if I lined the sides and top. Lining just two sides allowed me to close the door with some force... and then the foam would stick out between the cracks in a very ugly fashion.
I ended up lining the door a different way. Not sure it’s as effective as being stuffed between the wall and door but I’m sure it’s better than nothing.
Btw I got this to damper sound from the hall.
I stuck it on during some pretty cold weather and at first it wouldn't stay. So I was going to use a hair dryer on it until it warmed up and stuck. Turned out I didn't need to after all, but if it doesn't stick at first try, clean the surface you are adhering it to with alcohol. Then warm the surface with a hair dryer. I guarantee it will stick for you. And there is no question that it is great insulation. Fast and cheap and effective.

The insulation can easily be cut into small squares that fit in those little holes/nooks and cranny's as well, and it sticks really well! There was a small crack around the window kit I installed, and you could feel the air blowing strong - once I put this in that hole, bam! No air flow, and it keeps cool even with direct sunlight.
I tried to use it in an outdoor environment with lateral stresses and it failed almost immediately.
Initial adhesion was great, so in a static, or simple open/close application , it would probably perform admirably.
just bought white ikea, and so far, not a single scratch or mark. also any excess i just stuck on a door to improve thermal seal. - Waste not, want not.
Se despega con mucha facilidad en algunas zonas, y en otras deja el rastro del producto pegado en la madera.
Además de que dificulta el cerrado de la puerta :(
