Dislikes: I wanted more Jayden! The story did not necessarily revolve around the love story. It was more about Morgan finding herself and a large part was introductions the other friends, almost a set up for future books.
Overall though it was a quick and easy read. I would recommend this to anyone that likes romance and needs to cool off from a more intense series. 😀 it helps us romance readers to remember the sweetness behind the romance and not all heroes need to be alphas with issues.
I rated this with 3 stars because there were large lulls in the story and I struggled to stay focused. But anytime Jayden made an appearance I was hooked again. I think all the backstory of the girlfriends distracted Morgan's story for the reader. I feel as a reader I could get more of those characters from their own books in this series. But over all it was cute.
Eh, I wasn’t really impressed with this book. I saw it on Books and Bindings and it was free at the time so I though, What the hay? And the cover is pretty.
I’m glad the book was free, this story seemed to drag on for me. And it was a lot of telling and not enough showing for my tastes. I finished it so that’s something, but the climax wasn’t nearly as good as it could have been. I don’t know, it was just missing something. It seemed a bit cliche and tropey IMO. And while some tropes are awesome and I never get tired of them, this was not one of them.
Morgan was lost after finding out her fiance was cheating. This is where I get annoyed. She was with him for years and constantly did what he wanted, then all of the sudden she switches gears and decides that she is living her life for her. I mean, I get it, he cheated, but it just didn’t make sense to me that that is what caused her to have this epiphany. Maybe I wasn’t in the mood but this just seemed way to easy.
And the other romance seemed way too fast, like who falls in love after one encounter. IDK, it was very all over the place for me. I don’t think I’ll be reading anymore in this series. Bummer.
This is a great book, I love the writing. A.M. Willard has brought a whole group of people to life, the good, bad, and in-between. I giggled out loud a few times. Luckily, my boyfriend ignores me. Not so easy to do when I'm reading in public, though. I can't wait to read more from this series!! Now to patiently wait... Is it done yet???
I loved this book. I've been a fan of A.M. Willard's for a while now and her writing down ideas always amaze me. Her books get better and better every time I read a new one. This book didn't fail. It had the perfect mix of comedy, drama, tension and love. I found myself laughing out loud repeatedly. The character development was strong and perfectly paced as was the story. I can't wait to read the next story in the series. I do hope to hear more from Morgan and Jayden in the future installments!
What a sugary tale AM spins with this book. To loose love and to find love and to have lots of icing in between. One of my favorite reads this year! I laughed and I cried. A sweet girl that has her heart broken or did she? Sometimes life spins into a direction we didn't even see coming!! I would love to see this as a series as it seems the author set up a bit of that possibility but I'm not certain.
Great job to this author who is on my list of top authors!
