How would the story of Frozen change is Elsa and Anna no longer knew each other? An interesting idea, since this could potentially change Han’s love interests in pursuit of the crown, the reveal of Elsa’s powers, and much more. I enjoy these twisted tales! It’s so interesting to see which question is asked (here if Elsa and Anna no longer knew each other) and thereby, which question is deemed most important to the overall original Disney story.
The author stayed true to the story while also adding many interesting twists that could occur in this twisted Frozen world. I especially liked seeing Olaf in a different type of environment and “growing up” in a different type of situation. The only thing that gets a bit tedious in this retelling, is the moments when dialog and actions are exactly the same as in the movie. Sometimes it is interesting to see areas where the author sees a potential overlap (ie, where the same things would happen no matter what). But, sometimes these areas are too long, and I find myself wanting to skip ahead to when the story will be new again. All in all though, this is a very interesting retelling and definitely worth a read if you are a fan of Frozen.
