Yes, a few of the ideas would require a financial investment; however, I believe that was intentional since the writer knew every reader would be coming to these ideas from different financial levels. I think this was handled well. And even though you can think that a particular pursuit requires upfront cash, I've learned as a consultant of helping people make additional cash for the last 20 years, that isn't always the case. There are many avenues to go after one's pursuit. First, it needs a sound plan and thought thru process. Yes, you want to make more than you spend and in some endeavors that doesn't always work, especially with the MLMs (well they don't call themselves this anymore)(multi-level marketing deals). I encourage people to stay away from them unless you spend a lot of your own time upfront in exchange for the money. Yet time is money, so you are paying for that one way or another.
If you are looking for another way to bring in an additional $1,000 a month, make sure whatever you pursue has the avenue to deliver this. Not 6 months down the road. Not 3 months down the road. But 30 days or less down the road. I also believe and know everyone has a talent for something that can generate money.Read more ›
The author has identified 23 ways in which people can earn money without any investment -- thus the title "frugal ways". Not all methods are suitable for everyone, nor all methods would yield the same amount of money. However, since there as as many as 23 methods, everyone will be able to find at least a few things that he can do. For example, selling on Ebay and Etsy is something that practically anyone can do, particularly if they have something to dispose, or if they know how to buy stuff cheap for selling.
*** The book is easy to understand
*** Most methods mentioned are easy
*** Many of them can be done from your home
*** Once you start, you will find many more opportunities
*** Frugal ways of earning money are needed by almost everyone
*** Here is a good guide
*** I recommend the book
It's written in an easy to read style, concise and conveniently organized. I don't think its the quintessential work on earning extra money, but it's far from the worst I've read. All in all, it's worth taking a look at.
Still, I am definitely a fan of this particular book. I had heard of these ways of getting money before. Several times. But it was after I read this book that I actually started doing some of it. Maybe I am just finally ready, but I think it is more because there is just enough info on each topic to be actionable without getting overwhelmed with detail to the point where I couldn't start.
In the future, perhaps author Cole could write a truly comprehensive guide to being remarkably successful in one of these topics. In fact, I think that would make a nice series for her. Until then, if you just need to get off your fanny and finally do something to get some cash flow, this is a good place to start. If you use the information in here, it is definitely worth the cost.
