I've very rarely come across a second book in a series that is stronger than the one before. K. Bromberg brought her A-game to this one. Where second books usually lag or are more subdued in intensity, Fueled kicks it up ten notches.
If you don't believe me about Fueled's intensity, read the first few pages. It's in your face, it's raw emotion, and it killed me to read it. Fueled begins with you as a voyeur to Colton's nightmare as he sleeps. The way K.B. wrote this scene makes you feel his fear, his shame, and his despair. I lost my head and my heart to this book and this man reading this scene.
Rylee and Colton are the same yet different this time around. They are less guarded in some ways, yet more in others. Colton is still fighting his feelings for Rylee. Rylee is still fighting for Colton. The difference is that they are much more open with each other. Colton opens up more emotionally to Rylee, and Rylee accepts that Colton is giving all he is capable of. They learn to compromise, but don't worry, there is plenty of sexual tension and frustration. ;)
K. Bromberg keeps you on your toes in this book. Right when you feel safe to sit back and take a breath, she pulls the chair out from under you. You think things are finally going to work out, but fate or others have it out for these two. Certain people will plant seeds of insecurity in the already insecure Rylee. Colton's past will not allow him to forget how that four letter "L" word only means pain and suffering.
We get Colton's point of view in this one, and these were my favorite parts! Getting in his head was sometimes funny, sometimes hot as hell, and sometimes so emotional it was hard to read. I expected the hot and the funny, but the raw emotion he brought was not. K. Bromberg writes emotional better than she writes sex...and she writes sex like no other.
Let's talk heat. I mean, come on. Colton is a walking fantasy. He is sex personified. His words, his expressions and his movements simply scream it. He doesn't disappoint you in Fueled. These scenes have actually been discussed at some length in the group K.B. created for us bloggers that read it early. That's how freaking amazing they are. I will tell you my favorite scene after you've read it, and we will compare. ;)
Sex isn't what makes this book though. The story is what makes it. It is gripping and real. It's takes off and never slows down. I never knew what was going to happen next. I would laugh one minute and want to scream the next.
The other characters are just as engaging as Rylee and Colton. Haddie is her usual in your face self. Beck is more prominent in this one, and I loved seeing more of him. Rylee's boys, especially Zander, are back and tug on your heartstrings even more this time around. Skank Tawny is back with even more to keep her company. This cast either helps or hurts our couple in ways you might not see coming.
One more thing, and I'll let you discover the rest on your own. There is one phrase in this book that stole by breath! I literally quit breathing when I read it. Variations of it occur throughout the story, but you'll know it when you read it! It's a phrase that I am willing to bet will be ingrained in your head and heart! You know when Tom Cruise says "You complete me" in Jerry Maguire. It is just as heart grabbing as that, maybe even more. Let me know when you get to it.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to get lost for hours in a story of how much someone is willing to fight for another. How far someone will go to help another heal.

I must say I get tired of books that receive 4 or 5 stars from readers only to be disappointed in the book.
I just finished reading a different book after I finished "Fueled". I was so disappointed in this other book and the character development. The book had 4.5 stars, albeit not as many ratings as the Driven Trilogy, and I just felt that I had to leave a review to show my disappointment. After that, I felt that I needed to review this book to say how much I love this series so far. The author has me completely invested in the story.
I'm not very happy that she has left a cliffhanger and no date for the 3rd book to arrive. Not happy at all actually. I've read her reasons, however so often I don't remember to go back and read the rest of a series. If I really really like a book I will make a reminder to myself to go and purchase the next book when it's due to come out, but I can't do this with this series. Hopefully I remember to check back for it, however I'm pretty sure the story will haunt me until I am able to finish the tale.
Thank you to the author for such a great read.
How tacky can you be? Like come on. The writing was completely immature but I must say, not as bad as the previous book in the series. I'm not going to go into great detail here... This book got a lot of good rating although I read a few articles about K. Bromberg purchasing her reviews, which would make sense in my eyes. Her writing is boringggg. The sex is meh, just vanilla. Erotica readers want hot, sexy, pull me in, lusty lovemaking. Then the whole 'I want him' and 'I don't' then I do then I don't. Give me a break here! The only reason I even read this book after reading the first one was because i purchased them at the same time because if bloggers raving about it and they were badly priced. Thankfully, I didn't pay much more then I would pay for a couple sodas combined or I'd be a little more upset.
Seems to me like this book is one of those that you love or you hate. If I was 16 I would probably love it! But that's not the case. There are most definitely better series out there and this is hardly erotica. I won't be purchasing Crashed or any other work by K. Bromberg and I won't recommend this to anyone else. I did award 3 stars here (as if my rating really matters because of the supposed purchased 5 star ratings) because I gave Driven 2 stars and like I said, is was better.... But far from great, or even good.
