I have this piece of crap camera which I bought from Best Buy for the purposes of snorkling on a cruise. It lasted the first day and as another claimant said I also never took it below the water deeper than 2-3 feet, definitely NOT the 16 feet Fuji CLAIMS it can do, and my battery case was NOT open or unlocked since I made VERY sure of that before using it in the water and the next day it had condensation underneath the lens and would not take any more pictures. UNFORTUNATELY some how I lost my receipt and so I'm left with a 200 plus dollar paper weight now! Save your money and go to a dive supply website and get a real waterproof camera for just a bit more money. That's what I'm going to do.

If i could rate this no stars i would! The quiality of the pictures are horrible! Dont plan on having your picture turn out unless you have the absolute PERFECT lighting. This camera is the worst camera i have ever used! The picture color is always off or the picture is blury. The only good thing is that it is water proof.

Ok this camera takes very good pictures for the low price. I would consider it more weather resistant than weather proof. However, it is still a great value for the price it is selling at and takes excellent pictures.

I bought this to work with. Low quality images were fine, but I needed it to hold up under dusty or wet conditions, as well as take a hit. In the course of a year, I dropped it three times, it did get a little wet in the rain on a couple occasions, and was constantly covered in dust, and performed adequately for six months. Gradually, the menu buttons stopped working, and it is at Fuji getting repaired. And they are taking a LONG time. Images and features are poor, as expected, and is fine with me.

Worst camera I've ever bought. Broke first time I used it. Claims to be waterproof up to 5m but did not even last water resistance. Returns weren't accepted and was not compensated anything for the 5 pictures I spent $140 on. Do not buy this.

I've had this camera for 4 years now. It does what I expected it to do. I take it Kayaking all the time.
It has a small lens and I compensate for that when shooting. The Natural setting is the greatest. Get true to life with it all the time.
I use sport setting while kayaking because it takes less time to focus while I'm moving.

Yes, there are always some "Lemon" cameras when you buy a waterproof one. Dropping it on the cement might ruin the seal.
Between my Florida ocean adventures and Kayaking year round, I've gotten great use out of this camera.

I bought this camera to take some pictures in the pool, in a boat, and during some low-intensity water sports. It works fine for that, so I guess it fulfilled its main purpose. I should say I never took it more than 4 feet under water, so I can't vouch for it beyond the 4-foot mark.

As for image quality. It's acceptable in broad daylight at low ISO.
In the dark, the image quality is terrible with a huge amount of noise.

I like this camera. It's not the best quality, but it really is waterproof! I actually found this camera while kayaking. It was underwater for who knows how long and still worked when I retrieved it from the sand. The pictures are kind of blurry and low quality if you're not outside, but if you're looking for a good outside camera, this is it.
