"The Firehawks series continues with a richly detailed and pulse-pounding read that balances fast-paced drama and romance. Buchman knows how to make each of his characters unique and interesting, and Cal and Jeannie are just that. Their tender romance is flawlessly blended with landscapes of blazing fires and heart-stopping life-or-death scenes. Buchman again pens and excellent read! " - RT Book Reviews. 4 1/2 Stars

In this book Cal Jackson is a wildfire photographer who used to work as a hot shot. Jeannie is a pilot of a Fire Hawk, a fire fighting helicopter. The two first meet when Cal has to be rescued as a burning tree blocked his way out of the fire. The attraction between the two is smoldering.
Many of the secondary characters from Buchman's prior Fire Hawks books make appearances her as well. Though this book, like every one I have encountered thus far, can be read on its own. The plot is tight and takes the reader from the U.S., to Australia, to the island of Timor. At each location there is firefighting and sometimes a little more, because of that second contract. Well worth the read!
