This Blu-ray disc is not much of an improvement over the previous Blu-ray release, the disc I purchased has damage and does a not play all the a way through to the end, I found a this out to late to rmake a return, it is better than the first Blu-ray edition, wait for a remastered edition of the film to be released,

The dvd is way better than the blu ray. Blu ray audio is terrible, just compare the two of them!!

The first 30 minutes was funny, but the rest kind of sucked.

Super fast shipping - it actually got here quicker than I thought it would. However, the top left corner of the bluray case is crushed and part of the clear plastic case that holds the disc is cracked and broken. The bluray is "new" so this was a big disappointment. Points for shipping, but you lose by the quality in which it arrived. 2 stars out of 5.

War is complex, and never as easy to define as good vs. evil. If this movie attempted to capture that sentiment it failed miserably. The first half - boot camp training - was a slow lead to the eventuality. The second half - Viet Nam - was a portrayal as marines as morally depraved, unthinking, unhinged psychopaths. There was little to help understand their circumstance, or surroundings, just portrayal of soldiers as mindless killers. And, for more than half the film, fairly boring at that.
