You can brew Longjing tea using a teapot with a strainer if you make the drink for a few family members.

It is beautiful to watch the flat-leaf shape unfurl into nice whole leaves while steeping in the pot. Importantly, our long jing tea can be brewed up to 3 times.

How to brew Long Jing tea?

Warm up the teapot with boiling water, put about 1-2 Tsp dragon well tea, pour a small amount of boiling water into the teapot and immediately pour out. This helps to damp tea leaves, wash and help them to start steeping.

After that pour 8 fl.oz of boiling water that is about 80-85°C (175-185°F) and cover the teapot for 2-4 minutes before serving.

Long Jing tea water has the most beautiful golden color. It has a very light mellow flavor - very good, smooth and easy to drink, very refreshing every morning, also you can add some mint or an ice cube, it is a very delicately flavored tea that needs to be sipped mindfully to be appreciated.

I have been using another brand of the same type of tea, (dragon well, long king) for quite some time - and have been quite happy. This time it was out of stock and was going to be a couple weeks before I got it. So I ordered this brand because it would be here in one day. I was so delighted and happy when I opened the package. I’ve just gotten used to with the other brand the broken and small tiny pieces that float through the ceramic teacup, infuser, and makes my morning tea full of tiny tea leaf floaters. This brand I noticed immediately upon opening the package, was a lighter, brighter, green - and the leaves were full. No broken little parts. As you can see in the pictures after they have soaked they open up into full leaves. This brand has a much lighter and more delicate flavor, which I think I like. Though I can see where a little bit of aging gives the tea deeper depth of flavor. This is a great choice for anyone that’s looking for a light and bright cuppa tea for the morning, that has a ton of health benefits built right in.

The tea leaves look green and fresh and smell very nice (characteristic of smell of beans). The first steep tastes rather like some very good Dragon Well tea leaves I got from China years ago (Grade B as Grade A is the best per that farm). The second steep doesn't have very strong taste but you know what, just steep 3 gram of tea leaves and only drink the first steep so you are always drinking the best.

It's a little surprising that it also has some taste of Japanese green tea if you steep at a lower temperature (I used 170F), which is actually welcomed since it has some healthy nutrient that way (just forgot the name of it).

In addition, the price is very nice for this grade of tea. I used to pay double the price from another vendor (who also provides for Whole Foods in some stores) for nearly half the grade of this one.

I fell in love with Longjing 25 years ago. I've been lucky enough to taste at least 50, from tea farms to independent tea stores that purchase direct from the source. Price can fluctuate and while not always an indicator of quality, you generally get what you pay for. Every now and then you get lucky and find the real deal at an affordable price. This is ONE example. The fuzzy down on the inside of the package is an indicator, depth of green color another, nice full leaf on each stem after brewing is proof of careful harvesting and roasting. But brewing and tasting are everything. Wonderful aroma of fresh flowers and warm bread. The flavor a combination of chestnut, spring beans, and a mild sweetness The mouthfeel, buttery! Grab this gem while it lasts.

What a disappointment! We thought this would be good Dragonwell tea. Unfortunately, as several other reviewers have already said, it has no smell and barely any flavor whatsoever. That's not the way Dragonwell tea should be. It's too bad that it's worthless - a lot of money spent for nothing. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
