The Fun Seeker's Guides seem to be the place to go for information on Athens, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and San Francisco. They include the best hotels, restaurants, attractions and include detailed and delicious descriptions.
The Fun Seeker's Chicago is no exception and has exceptional writing and some humorous moments where you might even laugh out loud. I especially enjoyed the notes on the Hotel Monaco that indicate you can ask for your very own goldfish. The intriguing moment was reading about a suite that has handwritten John Lennon song lyrics on the walls. The room also has an electric guitar and a 52-disc CD player as well as a fully loaded digital jukebox. Sounds like a music lover's dream.
Descriptions of the Music Box Theatre sound enticing and the butter on the popcorn is apparently real. You may find yourself being pampered at the Nordstrom Spa or wandering about aimlessly enjoying the Museum of Contemporary Art.
"Choices extend to two dark and sensual dining rooms. The red room has accents of the namesake color while the green room sizzles with an unusual triple fireplace. Like so many Chicago-cool places these days, Japonais has a stylish lounge downstairs with deeply secluded sofas and a great view of the Chicago River, and it also spills out onto a fabulous patio in the summer." ~pg.Read more ›
for tourists, i think this book would also be really useful since it has hotel recommendations and lots of practical info.
