"The coverage of this textbook is exactly right for an introductory-level course. It offers clear and up-to-date information in every area without overwhelming the reader. The thread on multilingualism is unique."

In contrast, I find Harley's book to be info-heavy making it difficult to parse key points and sometimes even comprehend what they are addressing at times. In other words, it is too much a psychology text. Fernandez and Cairns book is an excellent primer given adequate background on the topics and leaving plenty open for further research for those so inclined.
Had to buy and read this book for a class (both authors are professors at my school)
Ended up using a different psycholinguistics book that was much more clear, concise and organized.
If you want a good understanding of psycholingusitics -This is not the book for you or your students
Hate when professors and schools push a book on students to help drive book sales.
Pick a book that will benefit students understanding and education and not what benefits your pockets!
