I was not expecting a cliff hanger. And maybe it was just me, but I think Ivar's whole personality change. He was like a totally different character from the villain represented in all the previous books in this series. There was also no mention of the title, or release date of the conclusion to this story. I've read this entire series so far and this is the first one to end without finishing the romance. Very short.

Of course this story was in par with the series: well written & HAWT. But...This one was a little hard for me to mentally reconcile. I don't like Ivar & in the rest of the Dragonfury series, I'm not SUPPOSED to. He had every intention of raping Myst in the first book. There were a few times in the other books where it was implied that he raped the High Energy Females he has in cell block A. He routinely has sex with & kills coeds when he feels like it. He enjoys it. I only ever saw him as having A redeemable quality in the way he is mourning Lothair in the 3rd & 4th books & he physically cares for Hamersveld but then again, only because there is something in it for him. So I don't consider him redeemable at all. I don't like him. Still don't like him. He's not a Bad-boy. He's a true villain. I don't care about him at all, unless his happiness makes him lay off my boys, the Nightfury Warriors. Changes his agenda & the war. I don't see that happening cuz of a female but I'm interested to see where it goes with impact to the overall arc. Of course I'm a hopeless romantic & not opposed to the "Love can fix anything" approach but this one...I just don't know. He's a villain, & though well motivated, he's STILL A VILLAIN. It helped that it ended openly & I'm sure we're going to see an outcome in the next book. I think I would have liked it a bit better if I had known nothing about him beforehand, but since I DO know him it was hard read. But I do look forward to the next book & seeing what happens with Ivar & Sasha. Maybe she can fix him. I dunno.

When I saw the blurb and read the couple for this short were going to be Ivar, the main antagonist in the Dragonkind series, and Sasha, his apparent mate, I was skeptical. Ivar is a very well written bad guy and while sometimes I kind of agree with his reasons, his methods are truly horrible and he’s definitely a BAD guy. Yet…when I read this I found myself intrigued by the way he thinks and the way he chose to process certain life events. Sasha was an amazing character and if I’m honest absolutely perfect for him. Their hookup was a little….unbelievable at first…but as soon as the initial what? Passed I was very much into their conversations and thoughts/feelings. Though this story was wrapped up pretty neatly by the end I still wanted more. Even though I have strongly disliked Ivar from the first novel I now want him to get his happy ending too. Though hell if I know how she is going to make that work! One of the many reasons I am a fan of Mrs. Callahan. Obviously I recommend this to any fan of the paranormal romance genre, though I will add that I feel like the first three books in the series should be read first. At least. If you read all four then the short everything will make perfect sense to you but if you read the first three you won’t miss any major plot points or how weird it is to actually be rooting for Ivar.

I love anything Coreene writes.....heck I would read her grocery list! This novelle follows Ivar, the villain of the story and his close encounter with Sasha, a woman who lives in his neighborhood. Without giving anything away, it raises a whole bunch of questions and feelings. A small fix for me until I get Venom. Maybe a re-read is in order?

I read Fury of Fate as part of the My Bloody Valentine box set.
Here is what I thought about Ivar's story :)

My first thought was Ivar really Ivar? After all the crap he has put the Nightfury’s through? But once I started to read I realized Ivar might not be as bad as we thought. Loved this story and hope that Coreene will continue these two’s story.

Now Fury of Fate is a novella so you know I won't give you more. But grab a copy of Fury of Fate and find out if this bad boy has any good in him.

This story was touched upon in Fury of Desire. My complaint is that when it was advertised as a short story, I didn't think it would be that short. After the first few pages, every time I tried to turn the page I would get the same exact page and position repeated until I forwarded the position manually, then went backwards. That was totally weird. Would like to know if there are any more Dragonfury books in the works.

I really like the Dragunfury Series. Downloaded Book 1 for free (Fury fo Fire) and liked it enough to buy the rest of the books as they came out and put in on my watch for the next release list. Book 2 (Fury of Ice) is my favorite so far, love that book and have re-read it multiple times! The series is like a bit of a couple of other PNR series mixed togher, but in a way that is real good, so I really dont care about that. Good character interaction between the warriors, strong females without being bitchy, well developed love stories, even if it is still a love at first sight type of thing (which is the premise of almost all Paranormal Romance books so that should be expected)

Premise: Dragon Warriors at war "internally" with other dragon warriors as they disagree on their place in the world.
This is a short novella (and while it is not a cliff hanger, it is a tease and I would say it is basically Chapter 1 in the final book.)

I think it stands well alone or if you are a fan of the series as a good continuation, but it is just a teast not a full story, so if you do not like that - then wait for the actual book. This book is about the lead bad guy, Ivar. A big bad dragon warrior with Pink eyes and he is also a Scientist trying to alleviate what he see's as an undesired consequence of their dragon world, having only male dragons and having to mate with human's to have offspring. While Ivar was not a bad guy that drew any sympathy in any of the previous books I still did really like this novella. It was Ivar meeting his female love interest: they were well matched together had great chemistry from the beginning and I am interested in seeing where it leads. Not usally a fan of reading the bad guys book, but my curiosty is piqued and I will definately read this full novell when it is released.
