Our boys are not simply boys; they are future men who will shape the world with their resilience. Immerse yourself in the pages of this book, where Douglas Wilson’s wisdom about true gospel-based parenting points to scripture for how to raise our boys into strong, faithful men. Embark on a profound journey with "Future Men," a remarkable Christian parenting book meticulously curated for dedicated moms and dads. Elevate your family's faith voyage through the time-honored principles of growing kids God’s way. Douglas Wilson begins with a call to fathers, and then addresses the importance of things such as athletics and intellectual tenacity, respecting girls, developing a robust work ethic, avoiding money traps, fighting idols, and secret sin. This book pushes scriptural patterns for masculinity into all the corners of a boy’s life. With “Future Men,” forge a legacy of Christ-centered parenting values that echo through generations. Elevate your parenting with this beacon of wisdom amid a sea of books on raising boys. "Future Men" invites you to rewrite the narrative of boyhood, molding it into a robust foundation for faithful manhood. As you embark on this gospel powered parenting journey, your son’s future family will thrive, a testament to the profound impact of a faith driven family. As much as it may distress us, our boys are future men. When Theodore Roosevelt taught Sunday school for a time, a boy showed up one Sunday with a black eye. He admitted he had been fighting and on a Sunday too. He told the future president that a bigger boy had been pinching his sister, and so he fought him. TR told him that he had done perfectly right and gave him a dollar. The stodgy vestrymen thought this was a bit much, and so they let their exuberant Sunday school teacher go. What a loss. Unbelief cannot look past surfaces. Unbelief squashes; faith teaches. Faith takes a boy aside and tells him that this part of what he did was good, while that other part of he did got in the way. "And this is how to do it better next time."

Used by thousands, Canon’s Family Series provides the building blocks for a home centered on Jesus. The call to build a beautiful home is both an honor and a challenge. In this simple guide, Nancy Wilson draws on decades of experience to give Christian moms practical principles on childbirth, education, discipline, and more. What does a godly living room look like? Kitchen? Front porch? Junk drawer? Pastor Douglas Wilson takes the whole family on a room-by-room tour of a Christian house, showing how selflessness transforms everything. Christian parents should raise their kids with prayer, faith, and confidence. This accessible and challenging study by pastor Douglas Wilson lays out what God requires and promises as you parent your children. Current dating practices leave young people emotionally and spiritually wrecked. Pastor Douglas Wilson offers men and women biblical truth for honoring God, their parents, and one another as they pursue long-lasting relationships. “Is this radical Christianity? No. This is basic Christianity.” Longtime wife and mother Nancy Wilson presents the counterintuitive way Christian wives can maximize freedom and happiness in their marriage: respect their man.

How can you be a faithful woman in the unfolding consequences of feminism’s war against femininity? Rebekah Merkle focuses on God’s design for women, encouraging you to be a godly mom, a loving wife, and a bold entrepreneur. God designed the household as his kingdom’s command center—and Christians can choose to work either with or against God’s design. In this truly original book, C.R. Wiley unlocks the deep, eschatological centrality of the household. “This book is nothing less than a proclamation of the Gospel as embodied in family life.” Pastor Douglas Wilson gets at the heart of the family, revealing how listening to the Gospel transforms the way we disciple and care for our children’s souls."

These are our top sellers, presenting God’s grace and truth for every person at every moment. How do you raise great men, ready for work, marriage, worship, and suffering? Pastor and father Douglas Wilson gives practical advice on how to mold your boys into powerful servants of God, addressing everything from school to sports to sex. Wisdom. Courage. Modesty. In fifteen brief lessons, Nancy Wilson outlines the virtues of a godly woman. Suitable for small group bible studies or personal devotionals, this practical guide offers clarity and encouragement to women of all ages. Cooking for crowds is a great but tough ministry opportunity, requiring tons of stress, money, and mental math (0.75 tsp. x 5 = 3.75 tsp = 1.25 tbsps). Drawing on long experience, Rebekah Merkle provides big recipes that are quick, cheap, and classy. One of the self-centered ideas shaping our culture is that you are enough. You are not enough, Rachel Jankovic says. Pretending differently makes true happiness impossible. But in Christ, you can find more meaning and love than you ever hoped for. “You can’t score points until you have the ball. And reformers will not have the ball until they have a culture.” America needs redeeming change. Here’s how to do it, from one of our time’s most effective reformers.

Review

"It is a life changing book especially for those like me who grew up without models of biblical manhood. Thanks Doug." --Bernard

"As a mom to a boy, this has been one of the most helpful parenting books I've read so far." --Leslie

“Must read for all families. I just re-read this for the second time and purchased copies for all of our faculty and will be encouraging parents to read Future Men. Parents raising a house full of girls (with no boys) should read it to be mindful that they shouldn't expect school administrators to handle boys just like their girls! They will also find some great character training nuggets that apply to boys and girls alike.” --Amy Walker

I wish I could get past the first 10 pages without them falling out..Update: impossible to read let alone enjoy this book. This is the second book I’ve received and the pages continue to fall out. I’m not sure if it’s the heat through transport or cheap binding but you can’t go 10 pages without one or two falling out. Very disappointed

I have read a lot of books on parenting, and particularly on parenting boys, and this is far and away the best I've yet encountered. Wilson's counsel is both pastoral and practical, and always tinged with his typical witty prose.

His approach is very different from many other parenting books, mainly because he starts from a different perspective. Rather than beginning with the various challenges associated with bringing up boys, he challenges parents (and especially fathers) to give consideration to the type of men we want our boys to become. In every circumstance, he encourages us to think about how best to prepare our boys for mature manhood. This often results in a very different approach from what society typically advocates, in everything from discipline to roughhousing to education.

If you have (or may ever have) a son or grandson, this is a very worthwhile book to have available as a reference (I expect to revisit it frequently as my son grows older and enters new stages of life). It would also be a great read for school teachers, as there is much that pertains to nurturing masculinity in the classroom.

Growing up without a father meant having to become a man "the hard way." By God's grace, He saw me through the journey to become a man and to be able to raise my son differently. Having a father that does not lead, nor teach their son to be a real godly man is not much better than having no father at all (myself) and sometimes it can be worse (bad fathers). I am grateful to Douglas Wilson for expressing the importance and sharing godly wisdom and insights for raising our sons in the fear and admonition of the Lord!

I highly recommend this book. This book has profoundly influenced how I will raise my boys. It also corrected a lot of unbiblical thinking about manhood from our culture that is unfortunately widespread in the church. Any man with or without sons, should read this book, this book is the antidote to the poison of effeminacy that has infiltrated the church-especially if you grew up in the church in the 90s like we did. This is definitely one I’ll be reading over and over again as my boys get older-to teach them to become true men-dragon slayers and warriors for the Kingdom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Weg zur Erziehung von Jungs jenseits von Verweiblichung und falsch verstandener Männlichkeit
Reviewed in Germany on January 19, 2018

Darum empfiehlt Wilson Verzicht.

Was mir besonders geblieben ist

Very insightful account of how to raise boys as warriors for Christ in a day when biblical masculinity is underemphasised and Godly fathers and husbands are hard to find. Would recommend for both young men and fathers raising or about to raise boys.
