I am a lecturer in psychology and my main research interest is in human factors with an emphasis on psychological research. Although the topic of this book is not directly related to human factors, it makes me think about my research from a different but very relevant perspective. The thing that I like most about this book is its high readability. Osman makes psychological research extremely accessible to the laymen by dissecting complicated experiments and extracting the most important messages to convey. I really like the "Breakdown of the experiment" section in each chapter and how the experimental task is described so clearly. Osman knows how to communicate science to the general public. I recommend this book not only to students (undergrads and postgrads) but to people with an interest in understanding the human mind.

My interest is in the evolution of human mental resources; and the symbiotic relationship between early language, and early timekeeping...and spinoffs from that...producing residues such as astrology...among other more important ones...
The Osman book, while not dealing with evolution, does wrestle with the issue of mental resources, prediction, and side-effects such as occasional misattribution of causes...
