"Thank you, Deborah DeNicola, for writing this book bent on empowering the feminine in a world that so achingly needs Her.
For you, who agree with her, and even for those who don't, read this one woman's everyday, spectacular journey, and be confirmed in your own." -Dr. Susan Corso, The Huffington Post
From the Inside Flap
DeNicola's memoir shows her range of intellectual pursuits and spiritual experiences as she battles an inner war between depressive cynicism and faith and shares her lifelong search to heal the trauma of her father's tragic death when she was a teenager. Struggles between cynicism and faith, depression and hope, independence and attachment, creativity and financial security in the midst of spiritual searching, motherhood, teaching and writing are inextricably woven into the fabric of her story.

What is deeply satisfying to me in this memoir is how I resonate and understand these spiritual experiences that are off the beaten path; I, too, live many of them.
"We understood that we could state what we wanted and put it out there for the universe to deliver. However, we all knew, as well, that timing is key; because the cause/effect relationship on the Earth plane is much slower than it is in other dimensions. Yet a persistent practice and the right attitude can help enormously. John had taught me to state my preferences for what I want, but accept in peace whatever comes as a part of my growth. I kept this lesson close to my heart. If we can undo our negative thoughts by being positive 51 percent of the time, we can effectively co-create." p 301
Staying positive 51 percent of the time - now that is doable!
Poignantly beautiful, spiked by jolting word juxtapositions, sprinkled with spectacular poetry, "The Future that Brought Her Here" seamlessly blends an internal world of dreams, third-eye visions, fears, personal struggles, irreconcilable relationships, feelings of rootlessness, with external location shifts from Washington State to Boston to Israel to Colorado to France with historical, spiritual, psychological explorations into the Black Madonnas, the Book of Revelation's woman of light, channeling, labyrinths, father/daughter relationships, male/female relationships, and so many other fascinating web-of-life strands.
"The Future that Brought Her Here" is rich in every sense of the word. If you're on your own spiritual journey, get it.
