I wish they would have cut the "GI Joe will return after these messages…. And now back to GI Joe!" between every single commercial break. Believe me that gets old real quick after watching several episodes in a row. At least you can skip it with the remote.

The option to play multi-part episodes seamlessly is a nice option. However, you can only do this if you watch ALL episodes from start to finish. For the single episodes, again keep the remote handy to skip the opening theme song and credits.

Notice how Snake Eyes is prominently featured on the cover of this set? Very misleading. Possibly the most disappointing aspect of this cartoon is an almost total lack of Snake Eyes. I am mystified why the writers chose to completely ignore him since he is considered the most popular Joe character. Especially the definitive 1985 version with his pet wolf. The cool 1984 white Storm Shadow is featured a few times, but who does he fight? Either Spirit or Quick Kick! Heck, even minor Joes like Toll Booth and Air Tight get more screen-time than Snake Eyes.

I was too young to see this cartoon when it originally aired in 1985, but am enjoying it now. On the back of the box it lists a few episodes which are considered "fan favorites" and so far those ones have indeed been the best. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I like most of the Cobra characters better than the wholesome, all-American Joes like Flint, Gung-Ho, and Wild Bill. Maybe I'm just a bad guy.

My 5-year old is hooked on GI Joe now...and I couldn't remember how many episodes I remembered from when I was a kid. Still so good...and he points out to his sister all the time "see, they parachute out, no one dies". The Viper is coming...to Vash the Vindows.

If you like the old G.I Joe cartoons, this is one of the sets to get. sleeve and disks were in good condition and even my finicky dvd player handled them with ease.

Seems like they made a mistake when they released these. Far too many discs.

Like season 1.3 unfortunately season 1.2 also had the same issues but only on 1 disc still that is no good.

The only thing I wish about this series was that it had gone on longer. Fun times revisited. Yo Joe!
