The RAM might be awesome, but I wouldn't know. The first batch had one bad stick. I sent it back for an RMA and G.Skill sent me 2400mhz RAM instead of 3000mhz RAM. So 1 month of troubleshooting my PC to find it's the RAM, then 1-2 weeks for RMA + 1-2 more weeks for another RMA is a pain in my a$$.
They would NOT send me the CORRECT stick of RAM before I sent them the stick I didn't care to steal or keep (2400mhz) so I was pretty disappointed.
I have used G.Skill since before they were so big and popular and this was the first time they let me down. I was especially disappointed they wouldn't just send me the correct stick as if I would steal their slow 2400mhz stick or something.
They did pay for the shipping on the second RMA.
The RAM itself may be amazing, but I still don't know 2, almost 3 months later.
The one stick I do have that is working plays PUBG, HOTS, and WOW on ULTRA with everything else I have, so that I guess is impressive.
Ordered this RAM to replace some Corsair RGB Vengeance modules as I loved the fact it had AuraSync compatibility. Though there's a few pros and cons I listed below:
Pros:
- Works with AuraSync, which makes setting up a quick couple of clicks and done. For me AuraSync was huge, as there's sometimes I don't want RGB running, and being able to kill the lights is huge, something I couldn't do with Corsair.
- Worked right away and easy to get going with XMP, looks sharp in the case, though I imagine would look even better with a full bank of DIMMS.
Cons:
- Every once in awhile when powering on the PC and booting to Windows, one of the sticks will fail to change color. Usually a power off/on fixes it. Anyways a bit annoying sometimes and the only reason I'd knock off a star.
- If you're using anything other than AuraSync, you'll be in for a bit of pain. The G-Skill software works when it feels like it, and definitely shouldn't be installed with Aura. If you have an Asus board, just go with Aura and never look back. (Maximus IX Hero for me)
I wish G.Skill would fix their stupid software. Even if I uninstall Asus Aura, I cannot get the G.Skill software to control the RGB lighting to work. I was really interested to see the functionality of it. Even still, the Asus Aura software does a good job of syncing the lighting on my Maximus IX Hero, Strix GTX 1070 OC, Phanteks P400 TG, and the G.Skill memory, but from what I have seen, limits the RGB implementation on the memory. I also had an issue early on with the RAM and my NZXT Kraken x62's Cam software causing SPD errors. Luckily, it appears that NZXT has fixed the issue with their software in a recent update. Now the memory, Asus Aura, and NZXT Cam software all play nice. Despite these minor issues, this memory is amazing, and I would definitely buy it again. Oh wait... I did. Bought 2 16Gb kits for a total of 32Gbs.
Just got these bad boys in. They are fantastic! The colors are so crisp and bright. They installed with ease and my system booted up with no problems. After adjusting my bios defaults, it accepted the full 3000mhz. I will look into over clocking later. You can’t go wrong with them.
Ryzen 5 1600 GTX 1060 Prime B350 Plus 15-15-15-35 1.35
Using gskills rgb software will corrupt the spd if another program is accessing it at the same time. This is a common problem and gskill is aware of it but has not fixed it as of yet. I went through two sets of ram before i realized what was going on. If you do buy this, back up your spd so that you can re flash your sticks if they become corrupted. Or just use the stock lighting setting and dont make any changes until gskill releases an update.
Ram looks amazing, runs extremely well, works with my Aura Sync software...in fact it’s currently the only thing that my aura sync registers, even though it’s an Asus board, CM fans designed for aura sync... but I digress. Ram is excellent. The ONLY problem I have is that I purchased the 3000mhz and I received the 2400mhz. Because it was one of the first parts I purchased, I had no way of testing it until this past weekend. Now I’m “outside of the return window” and stuck with the incorrect memory.
New to the pc gaming world with a pre built iBUYPOWER that came with a cheap 8GB RAM and these were recommended from life long pc buddies. I was very pleased with the packaging, quick shipping, easy install, and beauty! They feel really well built and designed. Have only ran Dauntless on them so far but no lag when multi tasking or gaming anymore! Was also able to control colors and patterns and even sync the rgb lights with my pc and it's built in software, very cool. Highly recommended.

I have purchased this pair of DIMMs to install for my Asus Maximus XI Gene, and I can say that this RAM is clearly a winner! The variant I only got was 3000 MHz CL15, but it performs very well! Achieves 102% recorded performance on UserBenchmark!
In terms of the RGB, the colours and the modes that you can apply on it are superb. It works seamlessly with Asus Aura Sync software that I use with my motherboard! You don't need the Aura Sync to program the RGB. G.Skill has the software that you can download for other motherboards, but it's a great bonus for Asus RGB peripheral users.
Definitely recommend the 3200 MHz CL14 if you can afford it, as that is one of the best in its class.
Performance is great, build is great, cosmetics are great - Easy Win-Win!
