- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2025For starters, I realize this case isn't for 'Everyone'. But that's part of what attracted me to it. It's just different from most SFF cases.
Building in the case wasn't too difficult. The power supply and motherboard are located on one side, and the graphics card is located on the other side. Of note here is that since I was using a PCI-E 5 graphics card, I had to replace the riser cable. However my SFX power supply had appropriately sized cables so managing them wasn't difficult. To round off my build I chose a 280mm AIO, and it took me longer to get it's cables managed than anything else in the build.
Of note here is that I leave the right side panel open slightly when I'm gaming to give my RTX 5080 more room to breathe.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2024The Z5i is one of the more unique cases on the market. Its looks are striking, and the build quality is superb. It's easy to build in (although custom cables are almost a must, esp. the 24-pin), and with support for an up to 280mm AIO, CPU temps won't be an issue. I personally would prefer a lighter tinted glass to show off the internals more, but that's subjective.
The case's Achilles heel is in the GPU temps. There's just not enough airflow to support more than an RX 6600/RTX 3060 level card. When I initially built in it, I got good results with a 3060, but both a 6700 XT and 3070 overheated. My final solution was to do custom cooling, as you can see in the pics. If you're willing/able to do a custom loop the case will handle about anything.
Ultimately it's a great looking case, one that's definitely meant to be seen. But if you're wanting to build with high-end hardware, be prepared for disappointment (or a lot of expense on cooling hardware).

- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2025Not a good design. Well the case is attractive and different, having the motherboard face down means you have to tilt the case on its side (which are all glass) to access the USB ports, video cable, ethernet cable, etc... Since EVERY ITX motherboard has wifi built-in, how does G.Skill expect you to put your 6" straight wifi antennas on the back of the motherboard when it's two inches above the ground? Good thing Amazon sells replacement antennas for your brand new computer!
There is no option for a standard ATX size power supply, so you are limited to an SFX PSU only.
The case is so thin, good luck finding a air cooler shallow enough to keep a decent CPU cool and still have room for the glass to close. Better plan on a 240mm or 280mm AIO cooler (whether you need it or not, with this case, you likely don't have any choice!)
The marketing photos here on Amazon show a G.Skill branded AIO cooler, but from every search I've done, no such cooler has ever existed. Perhaps it's Photoshopped?
The airflow on this case is only at the bottom and top. The top has a mesh magnetic cover that can only be easily removed by pushing up underneath of it, by opening a side panel first. There is no slide or pull to use.
There is only room for one 3.5" HDD, and if you add one, I hope you have a short GPU! Otherwise the HDD will be in the way of a standard size GPU. Then you must choose to have one or the other.
The PCIe riser cable is only Gen3. This alone is embarrassing for any computer case made since 2018. It absolutely will bottleneck your any modern GPU!
But the case looks cool....
