This product took me a while to figure out on my first try and get everything set up perfectly, but once I did it drained super quickly and even got most of the water out of the bottom of the hot tub and a lot of the little specs of dirt and debris as well.
Hey, is this product perfect? No, at least not from my experience. But it was 100x better than my old method. The problems I ran into were: First, the suction was so powerful that the drain hose would contract on itself causing the part that is supposed to rest on the bottom of the tub to keep rising up. I had to lay my hot tub cover partially over the hose to hold it in place and that did a pretty good job once I figured it out; second, the drainage hose was not long enough for my needs and I needed to add on a lot of extra hose to get it away from the house. I wish they would just give you the option to order extra hose length along with the contraption, and at a decent price because it's pretty expensive to buy from the hardware store or even online.
Those are really my only two complaints, so overall I'm very happy with the drain, and even more so because it was so affordable. Thinking about draining the hot tub in the future doesn't give me such a headache, and it will no longer be an all day event.
NO moving parts>high project reliability
Very cheap (a reliable pump will cost well over $100)
Quality material (I own other products from this company, which I have been happy with)
Tubing looks like garbage, but I did not use it nor intend to.

Simple design, works great; using it to pump out a fountain resevoir. I like it because it will suck up small pieces of debris.Published 1 month ago by TomB
Works awesome. Very aptly named, as it definitely pumps a lot of water, and quickly! Used it to pump out a koi pond, with lots of leaves and sludge in the bottom. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Amazon Customer
While it did drain my spa, I can't say it was "up to 800 GLS per hr". It however did start springing a leak like a rubber dingy. Great concept, but hose too thin..Published 4 months ago by Cold War Veteran MP
we were going to use this to drain water from a small pool that we had for our ducks but we ended up not keeping either. can't say if it was good or bad.Published 5 months ago by E. Barbara
Worked better than expected. I only wish it had a longer hose.Published 11 months ago by Frank Vahcic
