Top customer reviews
Now for the G-Dock! I love the ease of use and compatibility with everything I do, in the office or in the field. I also purchased 6 extra G-Tech 1TB Drives to go with this Dock. Why so many G-Drives? Well, because I have several levels of storage, number one being at use in the office or field, level 2 for saved images in dedicated folders (as-is untouched as shot images, and level three are my photo albums of completed work and files. I store level two and three in a fire proof safe and only have them out to update and download new or revised work and then back into the safe. In addition, I also have the G-Tech G-Speed 8TB 4 Bay Q Storage system for my iMac and Mac Book Pro complete daily backup and it is setup as a Raid 5 system. I have 2 backup drives for this system and hopefully will not ever loose data again as was the case in the past. I am completely sold on the G-Tech equipment, "Well Built and thought out. Before purchasing this equipment I spent much time in research, spoke with the G-Tech sales and Tech folks. They were/are helpful, informative and have a great customer service & Tech team. Amazing, I was able to reach out and talk to REAL People on the phone, all having great attitudes by the way. That is why I have spent a bundle with this product line. Last comments, Both the G-Dock and G-Tech Q are Outstanding in my book. Love their systems!!
The enclosure provides Thunderbolt connectivity. Individual drives can be RAID or JBOD. The bunch of drives option allows you to swap drives in and out as needed. These drives can directly connect to your laptop via USB 3, providing portability. There are other small portable Thunderbolt drives but they do not give actual Thunderbolt speeds.
