This review is for the GB-Tech Upgraded Professional Adjustable Desktop Microphone Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand Holder (red color). So I ordered this to replace a similar Boom Arm. I knew it was cheap and light going in. The arm works fine and holds my mic without dropping or moving even after 6 hours of gaming. The problem I have with this arm is the microphone mount was way to small for my mic. Fortunately I had the one from my old arm so a quick switch and it works fine. When you swivel the stand in the desk mount, it tends to be a little wobbly and it leans a bit to the side but it does work. Nice red color. The desk mount/clamp sucks but it is the same one used on most arms at this price range. No matter how tight I make it, it still moves when swiveling the arm on the clamp. In my opinion, this is ideal for light weight smaller sized microphones.

It was nice while lasted. One day without much explanation the part that connected the shock mount for my 990 snapped outta nowhere. Some of the craftsmanship was questionable, but over all was a good stand for a lil under a year n put up w a lot of moving around. I ordered the same style as a replacement but a different company and I ordered two of them bc the scissor arm style can be flimsy.

A lot of people suggest getting a solid (expensive) boom for podcasting but I've been using this for nearly a year without any problems. The knobs can be tightened to support heavy mics. I started with a blue snowball mic and it held that just fine even with a pop screen attached to the arm. Also the red and black looks rad.

Decent for lightweight microphones.

I bought this knowing it was cheap and probably won't last. I put a large diaphragm, shock-mount'd condenser mic on it and it worked great for about 2 weeks. Since then the weak springs holding tension have slowly relaxed and the mic droops lower and lower.

I've rigged it with some rubber bands to provide additional tension and it works until the rubber bands wear out and snap.

I ordered two of these--one arrived broken. I'm going to put them through their paces, but I'm not super impressed with what I imagine will be their limited durability. The low price attracted me, and I'm sure I will get the price out of them in terms of use, but I wouldn't recommend these for a high end setup.
