Bait and switch.

You won't receive the product pictured. I thought it was a mistake and exchanged. Only to receive a completely different, cheaper, and inferior model I was looking to replace a set that lasted years that were identical to the product pictured. Note the earpieces that are set into ball joints and swivel to adjust to your ears for comfort. The inferior product has fixed ear pieces and remind me of those crappy free airline headsets but with a microphone. Don't waste your money. Not only that but with the USPS shipping, if it doesn't fit in the mail box then it is drive to the post office to get. I pay for Prime so I pay for shipping. I might as well pay directly for shipping elsewhere so that the package comes to my home instead of the post office. That will save me time and money. 1 star on prime's new cut throat shipping too.

Like another reviewer said, I ordered this because I had one that is like the item shown in the picture, and I really loved it. I wanted another one but I got a different product. The headband is different, the ear pieces are different, the mic is different and is limited in it's ability to swing in a full 360 degree circle so I'm being forced to use this with the mic side on my left ear, which I don't like. The headset is forcing that because the ear cushions are no longer round. They are an oblong shape. It's an entirely different product. I'm very disappointed. The new model feels light, cheap and sponge-like, like it is made from the cheapest foam on the planet. Attention GE - you had a great product in this little headset and you ruined it.

Sensitive mic

I'm not completely disappointed but generally. The headphones are basic headphones. The sound is average. Neither great or bad. This I can totally live with.

But the microphone... I did the wife test and it failed. "Sorry I had to hang up but it hurt my ears." If the boom on the mic moves even a little, "CCCRrrrccrrcc". "Ouch!", says the person listening on the other end. The mic is also very sensitive to high pitched noises like the AC running, a microwave running, and a child's voice.

It's a fine product if: You don't move around much when using it and you're not around HIGH pitched noises.

As general advice: buy cheap basic electronics in a store so you can easily return them if you're unhappy with them.

While Jasco is licensed to sell GE products, the product description is misleading - no where on the product or packaging is the GE brand mentioned.
Additionally, the microphone does not fully pivot from one side to the other; if you want the mic on your right side you have to bend it quite a bit to get it near your mouth.
This item is much flimsier than the GE brand I was trying to replace. This is overpriced and I will likely return it.

Solid Performer for Price

Update 3/3/2016: After about three years, the headset has developed an echo, rendering it unusable. Still worth the money!

Update 8/12/2015: This headset still works great after nearly 2 years of usage!

Most days, I work from home. In the office, I have a very nice $100+ Plantronics headset. This is not the same, as you should glean from the price difference! This $15 GE headset works - it allows me to type while on conference calls all day. It is easier for me (and those on the other end) to hear what's going on compared to putting my cell on speakerphone.

It was a challenge finding a headset that had one 3.5mm jack, but this is the one. Bonus adapter means you can also use this headset with your computer for Skyping and such. The mysterious button on the wire disconnects calls - if you're on one. If you're not, it starts Google Play Music on my Samsung Galaxy S3. Different cell phones will probably vary.

Slight annoyances: the ear "pads" are very thin. I push them forward so they rest partially on my ears and partially on my head to avoid ear pain at the end of the day. The band that rests on the top of your head has no padding at all, so depending on how much hair you have, this may or may not be another slight discomfort. These things aren't a big deal, because the headset is so light, you don't feel it much anyway.

Paying $100 for a headset would have been a greater discomfort for me. If you have the money, should you splurge on a more expensive headset? Of course! If you don't, get this guy!

***Excellent TeamSpeak Mics***

Have always used these GE Voip headsets for gaming on the pc, especially teamspeak which I have found most other products have an inferior microphone sound. Even the more expensive sets have a tinny, far away sound whereas these always sound hefty and robust. When I use another brand am told or asked 'what happened to your voice? you sound like you're using a tin can or you have a cold?'' Don't know why but others just don't cut it. I use speakers and voice activation. I find earphones are annoying after a few minutes and hang these around my neck and adjust the mike and all is well, provided of course all the other settings are correct. The first set I bought was in a local store and they were in a discount box and the clerk told me his dad uses em all the time while on the road using his cell phone and never once had a issue and that it was the only ones he ever used so....them being on sale at the time...got a set and have never gone to any others beginning in 2010. Highly Recommend.

***UPDATE*** I use these primarily for the microphone. They are much clearer in that respect than most more expensive models.As for the ear part of the headset I bypass those and opt for the external speakers (surround sound) for gaming and teamspeak. Without a doubt the best inexpensive mics out there.
