Top customer reviews
The original bulb that came with the oven lasted over five years. This new GE bulb lasted three weeks. The bulbs were cheap ($5.82/pair); It's not worth the hassle to return it. I'll consider it a learning experience. No more GE bulbs for me.
Update - The second bulb burnt out this morning. It lasted 6 days. Definitelt NOT worth the money! I'm dropping my rating to one star. Not only did I waste almost $5, I now also have to make a run to HD to get more. Very disappointed!
I've included a picture of both bulbs (the new and my old bulb) to prove they are supposedly the same. The bulb with the milky purple glass is the bulb I just received from Amazon that burned out immediately after being placed in the socket of my fridge. The milky appearance came after it burned out. You can see the clear bulb, which is the original bulb from my appliance, did not have corroded contacts when it burned out. These knock off bulbs are cheap and probably not GE. You can see from the images that the specs for the new bulb, as well as the packaging claims it is a GE appliance bulb, but that is not the case. Either GE has completely lost quality and started manufacturing their bulbs in Hungary, or this is a seller trying to pass knockoffs as GE originals. It's not safe for use in refrigerators.
I have no issues with these bulbs. They were easy to screw in and worked immediately. The low cost was great, combine that with Prime shipping and it's a pretty great deal. Can't go wrong with these!
The original bulb in my oven lasted just over 8 years before burning out and the other is still working fine after 8 years.
