Started Clear before going Almond

You caused me some Panic GE! I ordered the Almond Silicone sealant. Had everything ready to go, cut the tip, started squeezing and what do I see come out but clear silicone. What the hell! After going back to my computer, I look online at the reviews and it appears that a lot of people run into this issue. Before returning the product, I decide to grab some cardboard and test to see if the clear turns almond (longshot I know). Well, after I squeeze out about a quarters worth, the silicone turns almond.

Apparently you're just topping these tubes off with clear silicone. Why????? Anyway, product worked fine after that. Put a label on your product saying that first few drops may not be the right color and save people some headaches.

Clear, Not Almond...

So, I got all the old caulking out, cleaned and taped off the area, let a little bit out of the tube to test it, and it is clear, not almond...I squeezed out 6" just to be sure. There is a paper label on it that indicates it is almond, but when you look under it at the tube itself, it "clearly" says clear. Not pleased. Can't use the shower until I put on my mask and go to Lowe's.

Wow, I have never been disappointed with a product enough to right a review. I finished my bathroom and wanted forever for the product to show, when it finally showed I went straight to the bathroom to finish. I read the directions, cut the tip the recommended 45degrees made it halfway down the tub and everything blew out the back. It took me hours to clean it off me, my brand new floor, and newley painted walls. Deep Breaths 😠

I bought this car caulk thinking it was asking l almond color. But it ended up being clear silicone. The time clearly says clear but there's a tag on it that says almond, so I thought it was a clear tube and the color was added to it. Just like paint. But I was clearly wrong, it was clear all the way. I bought this tube last year and didn't get a chance to use it until just now. I needed to caulk my bathroom. My fault, I can't ask for a refund now.

I have been buying this product from Home Depot for many years. I ordered it on Amazon to save a trip to the store, but I am sorry I did that. Not sure if it is an old stock or what, but the silicone seems to be broken down. Clear goo and almond colored lumps come out of the tube separately. It's garbage and will be returned.

Home Depot didn't have the almond color so I ordered it from Amazon. It's a very very light beige and definitely different from the white, which I also bought for a separate project. I read all the reviews before I started using it and it seems the tube has a tendency to burst from the end so I put some painter's tape there and had no problems. I thought I would need more but there's actually a lot of product in this! Only thing I didn't like was that since it was my first time using silicone, I didn't expect it to be SO sticky. After watching some videos I used the soap and water method and everything turned out fine and much less messy. Just make sure you squeeze until the color comes out as it seems they put a bit of clear silicone at the tip of the tube.

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! It's the best silicone I've ever used. Work carefully & quickly though because this stuff is tacky and not like your regular silicone. If you get it on something, wipe it off immediately with a damp cloth. Once it was set, it works perfectly. The water just beads on it - it's like a well waxed car! It's amazing. I haven't had any issues either like with other silicones... no small gaps or tiny holes appearing, or any mildew. I'll definitely buy again and have recommended this to everyone.

Major bummer! As others have pointed out the almost color is almost clear. Certainly not the almond color that I have used in other GE latex caulks. I kneaded the tube to mix things up, placed it in warm water to start and it spewed clear for the first 2 lineal feet. The color then darkened slightly (dirty clear) for the rest of my project.

The GE 2 silicone was easy to apply and the clean-up was a snap. I'm just very disappointed in the Ge "almond" color. Sorry GE!
