I picked this since my bathroom lights are of similar shape and size. I was fully aware that this is not going to be very bright, but since there are 6+ sockets there, I was not that concerned about individual brightness. When I first screwed this into my bathroom fixture, no light. I tried another socket elsewhere, no light either. Then I noticed that the plastic base is sitting on the edge of the socket. The neck (the screw portion that screw into the socket) is too short that the plastic base hits the edge of the socket. So, this may cause no contact at the base or I have a bad light. After trying almost all the light sockets in the house, I finally found one and finally, the light come on. It is indeed not very bright, more like a 15W incandescent and it can only fit into short socket....so beware of this. It cannot go into the bathroom socket that it is supposed to fill.

I found the same or similar bulb, same price, at Home Depot with 130 lumens instead of 80. I have spent over $1,200 on LEDs for my home and the best lesson so far is to ignore the "replaces xx Watt" and look at the lumens. It works as advertised.

I needed to reduce the power consumed on a particular circuit so as not to trip the circuit breaker. (This same circuit has an infrared sauna.) I replaced three of six incandescent bulbs in an over-the-sink bathroom fixture with these decorative LED bulbs. To my eye, these 2.8 watt bulbs provide as much light as the incandescents they replace. I also had the issue where I thought a couple of the bulbs didn't work. However, the problem was caused by the bulb coming in contact with the fixture rim before the bulb had made proper contact with the copper tab in the middle of the light fixture. The "problem" was easily fixed by pulling the copper tab in the middle of the light fixture out a little before inserting the bulb. MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF to the fixture before you try this!

The specs on the Amazon page say 50,000 hour life while the package says 12,000 hour life. 12,000 hours are still a lifetime for me, so that's not a problem. The specs on the package say 80 lumens. That would be useful information for any lighting product.

The only negative is that it took a lot of research to make sure I was ordering the right bulb. Now that I know it's the right bulb for this application, I'll order more.

Style Name: Fridge/Freezer Bulb; 350 lmnsSize: Clear Daylight (5000K) Verified Purchase
LED light bulb by GE, A15, model number 83645, 4.5W, 350 lumens, 40w equivalent lumens, 5000 Kelvin color (daylight), medium base. Seems perfect in every way. Nothing not to like. The picture shows a frosted bulb, but it's actually clear. This is fine if you're using it in a regrigerator, where you will never be looking directly at the bulb. I have been living all my life without a refrigerator bulb, because I know that they (traditional incandescent) give off 95% of their energy as heat, and 5% as light. This problem is totally solved by the LED technology, which is more like 95% light. By the way, if you're interesed in knowing what the specifications mean, Wikipedia gives it all, as follows: A15 refers to the form factor, or physical size and shape. "A" means it's the tradtional pear shape, and "15" refers to the diameter: 15/8", that is, 1-7/8". The most common, larger size (60 watt equivalent) is A19. Medium base is the standard, most common light bulb base, also called "E26", or Edison base, 26mm diameter. (E27 is functionally the same.) 5000 Kelvin refers to a temperature, and the color that an object emits at that (very hot) temperature. Cooler (lower number) is redder, and hotter (higher number) is bluer. However, it is not the actual temperature of the bulb, of course, just the corresponding color.

Bought a three pack of these at Sam's (On the free day) for my bathroom just to try and they work great.
I have six light fixture and I can hardly tell they a brightness difference between a standard 40 watt frosted bulb and these.
I have tried other LED lamps which hardly lasted a month but these are holding up great.
I will be buying more of these.

Growing tired of having to replace CFL bulbs or finding the generic incandescent bulb lights -- tried out these led ones, they fit perfectly and give the equivalent of a 20-25W bulb each. They also look really nice. If they are truly only using a tiny amount of watts and will last nearly forever comparatively speaking, then they will be a steal and a must have. One less chore around the house if I never have to worry about wanting or needing to replace them going forward. My son did note that they were less bright than the previous bulbs in the kids bathroom, but then his mom had put 23w cfl's there previously and that isn't a fair comparison.

Firstly, I want to address everyone who is saying these bulbs are too dim. There are MANY options for these bulbs. There is a 2W, 4W, and 5W, which are replacements for 10W, 25W and 40W incandescents respectively. Most people are probably looking for the 5W/40W replacement, yet I see them complaining about how dim the bulbs are when I can see that their review is clearly being left for the 2W bulbs. If you want something bright enough, pay attention to what you're buying!

This gives off very pretty, white light, which I prefer. I've included a photo taken at night (which can be notoriously yellowy and ugly with incandescents) for reference. These are in an open hanging pendant, and I was a little worried it would look sort of funny since they have the white plastic base, but I don't mind it so much, and we are switching completely over to LEDs. The light obviously goes more directly toward the ceiling, but I haven't noticed it being any dimmer than what it was with the incandescents before. Anyways, I'd recommend these even though they are pricey especially when you need 3 of them.
