Bought this
GE LED Bright Stik 60W Equivalent 2850K Bulb
from my local HarDware store, because it was inexpensive and the design looks intriguing. The 'bulb' is shaped like an over-sized ChapStick lip balm. The diameter of this light stick is much smaller than that of a typical 60W-equivalent LED bulb, but its length is actually longer than an incandescent A19 bulb. See my uploaded image for size comparison. One potential problem with this design is that: if you use it in a torch-shaped floor lamp, its bright end may stick out from the shade.
[Power Consumption]
I measured the power consumption using my
EUM-A1 Power Usage Meter
(which has a resolution of 0.1W). Initial power consumption was 10.4W, which is consistent with the 10W rating. But the power started dropping as the bulb warms up. After 1 hour, it stabilized at 9.5W. Power factor is low at PF=0.63.
So the power consumption dropped by nearly 10% when hot. This is a common problem with most low-cost LED bulbs: inadequate heatsink design. For example, the

[Light Output]
The GE Bright Stik is rated 760 lumens of total light output. This is slightly lower than the 800 lumens for most 60W-equivalent LED bulbs. I used a light meter to measure the brightness of this GE light, and compare with other 60W-equivalent low-cost LED bulbs at equal distance. Here are my results:

- GE Bright Stik (this product): 300 Lux initially, dropping to ~250 Lux after 30 min.
The initial brightness of this GE bright stik is slightly lower than that of other '60W-equivalent' LED bulbs. This is to be expected given its lower light output rating of 760 lumens. The problem is that once the bulb heats up, its brightness drops by ~17%. That means its total light output is now equivalent to a 50W incandescent bulb at best.
[Bottom Line]
I liked the innovative shape of this GE Bright Stik, but disappointed by its poor thermal design. Considering the low cost I paid, this is still a good value - as long as I only need a 50W-equivalent LED bulb.
At the present Amazon price, however, I find it hard to recommend this GE Bright Stik over other low-cost LED bulbs from Philips, CREE and FEIT.
