This expensive cooktop was installed in my new home by builder. I am from new Orleans and cook a lot of soups stews gumbos and other large dish meals, this item has a mid burner for large pots.there is a feature called power boil for large cookware.the first time I used it for cabbage chicken soup in a large soup pot.... The burner crackled in 20min and I discovered on inspection that the burner actually melted.i will need to file warranty claim but I am an amateur chef. I don't think I even want this cooktop and it was exoensive. I guess they count on people not using the feature .the burner melted....that is a serious design fault for a gas cooktop. Oh my gosh. I am shocked.

First I need to say is that a lot of the reviews of this cooktop are way off base. from the burners being to far away from the grates to only one burner adjust when in grill mode.... Simple is not true. Thier is plenty of room to cook what ever your heart desires. We had a 4 quart and a 14 frying pan with a big pasta pot on the 20k center burner. This is top of line cooktop. The grates are super heavy duty and shout first class. Amazon has the best price by hundreds over the competition. Shipping was free and no sales tax! My wife is using it tonight to make dinner and keeps saying that she loves it.

Looks solid, but your gas bill will go up from before. The grill is so highly placed almost 50% of the heat is wasted. It also burned by microwave oven above. Really bad design. Not well thought out. Made a mistake by buying it.

First off, it's very pretty and I'm excited to be using a gas range, finally..... Being only 30" - it's not big enough. But if that's what your space limitation is, then so be it. It's odd because on my electric glass top, pans seem to fit much better than on this cooktop. I'm always shuffling things around trying to make sure they are sitting on the flame. I think they could have moved the burner locations to provide a more functional cooktop. Second issue - the knobs. Yes, gas ranges must have knobs, but these seem to be in the way. Be careful when you put something on your range that it doesn't accidentally turn on a burner. But also when you are cooking - sometimes, my pans are literally sitting on the knobs (another issue with burner location - and putting the large burners in the front where the knobs are - it limits the space even more). Although I love cooking on gas, I wish I had spent my money on a different cooktop.

Water is taking much longer to boil. We cook a lot and this is not what we can live with at all. It is too time consuming, poorly designed, will result in high energy costs. Gas range is uneven and pots can slide and fall on us.

Only installed it 3 days ago. I called GE and they sent a techician to take a look. The GE Tech agreed that the 5K burners' flames do not reach the grates. It is a design flaw and GE techs can't repair a design flaw.
