The device comes a single box with three HDMI ports on the back--one 'out' port and to 'in' ports. The box is about 5" x 51/2" with a depth of about 1",probably a little larger than it really had to be. The ports are marked '1' and '2' as are the mechanical buttons on the front that switch you back and forth. This one will not win any points for styling--it's all-plastic, black body with the old GE logo looks like it was cooked up in the 1970s. But it does have HDMI ports rated to 1080p.
So it's not a fancy electronic solution, but it works perfectly. Basically, my basic HDTV has only two HDMI in ports, one of which is occupied by cable TV. I already had a Roku connected to HDMI port #2 but also needed to connect my Blu-ray player and this little device did the trick.
My devices are hooked up by HDMI cables to port 1 and port 2 and the out port goes to my TV. In order to switch between devices you just hit the appropriate button. Sure, there are only two HDMI ports in--it's not one of those fancy three or four to one devices. And no, there's no remote--you actually have to get out of your chair and hit the button to toggle from device 1 to device 2. But it is an inexpensive, simple, no-frills device that just does the trick.
Plain and simple. It's easy to set up, requires no auxiliary power, and just does what it is intended to do. Recommended.
I really wish there was a 4 port version of this so that switching between my PS3, PSTV, Wii U, and PCs wasn't as complicated. But whatever. This plus my receiver gets the job done.

For some reason it doesn't work with my 1st generation LG blue ray and a direct TV receiver. But had no problems with my regular DVD player for years.Published 8 months ago by Tom
It did not work with my 32" Samsung HDTV. I tried several different HDMI cords just to make sure, and still couldn't get it to function properly.Published 17 months ago by Montana Brister
