My built-in over the counter GE Microwave oven stopped working after 4 years in service. The service man wanted $75 + parts to come home and fix the problem.

A yahoo search revealed the problem might be due to the failed door switch. My oven uses two door switches. I ordered two, since I didn't know which one might have stopped working.

The switch installation is moderately difficult for a lay person, especially if the oven is built-in. There are lot of You Tube videos available to guide. It took 3 hours for me. After replacing both switches the microwave oven works fine.

This style micro-switch went out on a 12 year old microwave built into my kitchen shelves. I really didn't want to to buy a new microwave and pay a carpenter to redo my shelves for the new oven.
After some Google searches, I discovered this little switch is easy to replace so I tried it.
Job complete!

fixed the problem.First issue with microwave noticed the turntable kept turning when you opened the door.I guess the switch was stuck closed.and then the microwave stopped working.was easy to replace in my GE microwave .2 screws held on the control panel and then it flipped out giving access to the door switches.there are 3 different switches and I checked them with continuity tester but I could tell the switch was broke.put in new switch in a few minutes and works.

GE JVM1750SPSS microwave stopped working. It was less than two years old. No heating, turntable didn't turn, just a click. After searching a bit I found that a very common reason for this symptom was a failed door switch. After taking unit down and removing the cover and keypad I was able to remove the door switch assembly. Of the three switches, one had failed. Ordered this replacement and it came very quickly. Popped out the old switch, popped in the new one, put it all back together, and presto magico, it worked!

got this as an OEM replacement for SZM-V16-FD63 secondary (normally open) door switch on the GE JVM1850DM4BB over there range microwave oven. The original part number of the switch I had replaced was WB24X10038 but that was discontinued and replaced with this WB24X829. All in all, it works, and not terribly difficult to install - 5 star

Worked great, was easy to install. My microwave JVM1540DN continued to run when the door was opened. I initially ordered WB24X830, but that wasn't the primary switch, so had to order WB24X829 and it was great.

It was easy to install and fixed the problem. The switch that was bad was the lower of the three. The top and bottom are this switch. The middle one a NC switch, different part number. If you wonder how to install this switch, simply Google it and you will see several videos. The symptom was: When you try to start the microwave, the lights come on but the turntable does not rotate and it does not heat. The bottom switch was not making contact thus allowing the microwave to believe the door was actually shut. Easy job. Need a torex screwdriver set.

Replaced my vacuum switch perfectly. Part numbers were off slightly but knowing the function was a relatively simple one, I was more concerned with the shape for the screw holes etc and this was perfect.
