I bought this for my GE Profile Arctica freeze top model. The part was located in the freezer compartment hidden behind (at the upper right edge) of the tubing. First I removed the ice cube maker, then the light bulb & housing, then the white sheet metal covering the rear of the compartment. It isn't easy getting back there as the metal is sharp and it's really wedged in there. Also the wires are rather short so you are working real close to all this to cut, strip, splice, and heat shrink wrap the new piece into place. If I had known where to look, my job would have been much easier. It probably took me as long cleaning all the shelves, drawers etc that I removed than doing the actual replacement. So far the fridge is cool and looks to be fixed but time will tell.

Our freezer's defrost was having "issues". Food got way too freezer burned. And the defrost cycle got way too warm - food got soft, ice cubes in the bin melted into one big glacier, etc. Good videos online show how quick of a repair this is. It makes it so that the defrost ends when it gets to the right temperature, as opposed to going the max duration set forth by the defrost timer. GE GSH22JFTABB, ~2005 DOM. Worked like a champ. Ice no longer clumps, and food rarely freezer burned.

Ordered this to replace the one in my Hotpoint refrigerator. It ended up being my defrost heater that was bad. But I had this to replace so that both parts inside are new. Hoping this 2006 Hotpoint model HSH22IFTAWW side by side holds up for another 10 years. This was an easy replacement and there are a ton of videos online of replacing thermostats on GE Hotpoint fridges.

To replace this you will need to remove the back off of the inside of your freezer. Then cut the wires and crimp this new one on with connectors.

OEM part worked perfectly. For less than 10$ and about an hour of work I fixed my refrigerators issue. The defroster never came previously causing the the coils to freeze over. Once this happened my side by side refrigerator began getting much warmer than usual. Defrosting with a hairdryer made the fridge work normally for a few days, but replacing this part completely fixed the issue. It's an easy fix.

Installed on a Kenmore 106.73183302 refrigerator.
My freezer temperature was continually just below the freezing mark. I would have to take apart the freezer and manually defrost the cooling elements, about once a week. There was frost buildup on the back of the freezer. After doing some research, I read about this part. Install was simple, and the elements in the freezer have been clear of ice buildup. Freezer is making good temperature again. Product is a huge $$$ saver... Saw the same item going for around 30 bucks. Great quality at a fraction of other stores. Thanks!

This was the root cause of a wildly fluctuating freezer. Tested bad. Freezer would do great for 1-2 days, then it would start defrost cycle and not really ever stop defrosting.

Sadly, after a few weeks of everything working great, now the fresh foods temps are fluctuating. I am still diagnosing the new issue.

I ordered the thermistor and thermostat together since the bad heating element was recently replaced. Though the thermistor was the issue, I replaced the thermostat too since I had the freezer compartment dismantled.

If you are going to the trouble of replacing the defrost heater in a GE by removing the ice maker, the light, the condenser fan, and then melting all of the ice that built up, spend the few more dollars and replace this guy at the same time! In my refrigerator, I had to cut the wires between the old thermostat and the wiring harness, then use wire nuts to put the replacement into the circuit. So, be prepared to solder and heat-shrink, use electrical tape, or use wire nuts like I did.
This part works WITH the defrost heater, so replace them both at the same time and be done with the job!
The seller shipped FAST and it arrived well-packaged.
